“Sound”
A very comfortable hotel situated centrally. The apartments were all very clean, had plenty of space and all the necessary facilities. Front desk staff were helpful - when we had trouble with our toilt we were imediately moved to a new suite. All in all not the flashest but very sound!
“Great Value for the money.”
Do not hire a car if staying in Perth, ALL streets are subjected to parking fees and cost more more than the car hire day rate. Use the free public transport ( Red Cat , Blue Cat , Green Cat bus's) . We liked the standard of equipment in the studio every thing from kettle , full size oven, top hob, Washing machine, air conditioning and all cooking utensils plus all crockery . Room was serviced every day & tea coffee , sugar and even the milk was replaced.
“Good Location near free bus stop but needs a bit of TLC”
We stayed for a week in February 07. It was a last minute booking and was not much more than a private en-suite room in a hostel. The staff on reception were friendly but at our time of visit the entrance felt dark as the in hotel cafe was not open. The room was spacious even had a washing machine, dvd player and table on balcony. It was good to have a balcony but next doors air con was on our balcony! For the price the size and the in facilities were great but the room was never cleaned properly during our stay. For example floor was dirty when we arrived and even though we kept asking still hadn't been cleaned by the time we left. Also we had to keep asking for clean towels as they weren't replaced. Overal more good than bad for the price.
“A good, basic hotel in the CBD”
The room was a good size, with new kitchen and bedroom area. It was nice to have a balcony. The room had washer/dryer, DVD player etc which made it a comfortable and useful base. The bathroom was old and tired, but clean enough. Although we understood the room would be serviced on a daily basis, this was not the case. When it was serviced (only a couple of times in 10 days), old sheets were left behind, and only a section of the suite was done, ie bathroom or bedroom. The front desk staff were a bit hit and miss, and our service requests didn't result in any service improvements. I would personally use a different hotel next time, rather than go back.
“Decent enough get what you pay for.”
First impressions of the room decor was dated, but once i considered the very low price and the fact that i had a bedroom, dining kitchen and bathroom for the price of a hostel (private room). Nice staff.
“Perth is great, but don't stay at Aarons”
We stayed here for four nights in April 2007. It is well situated less than ten minutes walk from city centre shops. The accommodation is quite spacious but in poor condition. The service is poor. Although 24 hour service is advertised, that just means the desk is open. A back in five minutes sign greeted us most often and even when the receptionist was present the usual response to questions was vague or uninformed at best but more often that it was nothing to do with them. Our apartment needed major refurbishment. Even with a reasonable standard of cleaning it could not look or feel clean. This was not helped by the fact that one overhead light and a standard lamp in the main room did not work, making it dingy. We reported these to reception but they were never attended to. When we checked in we were required to sign an inventory that included a number of items which turned out to be missing including essentials like a water jug and non essentials like bathrobes and spare linen. The water jug appeared but the other items never turned up despite numerous reminders from us in order to ensure that we were not charged for them at the end of our stay. Then there was the tin opener that did not work and the dishwasher which was incapable of adequately cleaning dishes. It is a pity somewhere like Aarons lets a lovely city like Perth down. Do visit but pay the extra and stay somewhere like one of the Quest locations as we did on our second visit.
“Not impressed at all!”
This hotel was a huge disappointment! It does not come close to meeting its 4 star rating. The rooms were filthy (examples: we found a pizza box complete with half eaten pizza in the cupboard and the extra blanket for the bed had stains all over it. The bed also had hairs on the sheets). The hotel offers the option of superior suites however in our experience these were worse than the standard rooms (unfortunately we stayed in both types of room). We were promised a balcony to 'catch a breath of fresh air' however our balcony overlooked a brick wall and a car park which contained a huge air conditioning unit that kept us awake all night. The hotel also promises selected cable tv channels however we could only locate one cable channel on our tv. Overall this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had and I would certainly never recommend this hotel to any other traveller.
“Not impressed”
Good central position but thats about all it has going for it. On arrival the reception and ground floor areas set the tone for the whole place....very poor!
