While the staff were friendly I feel like the hotel is not suitable for people with toddlers. I had to put my milk and baby food in their fridge which seemed alien to them. The room smelled musky and old there was damage to the ceiling which was very visible and to the bathroom. It’s an old place that needs updating but quiet suitable for adults that don’t mind because the surrounding area as so nice. One thing I did not appreciate it’s that we booked breakfast at 9:15 with a toddler and by 9:45 they started closing the buffet down and even informed us of this as well. We had to ask them for standard things because it had not been topped up. No air conditioning so if this is important to you, this is not the place for you. The bed was spring and I could feel the springs so didn’t sleep well either.

The hotel was ideally located, very near to Bath yet surrounded by beautiful countryside. The views were incredible The staff were excellent and the room was good. The only negative was sadly the dinner we had which apart from the enjoyable sweet was otherwise rather uninspired and tasteless.

Beautiful location, lovely old house - sadly not much atmosphere due to the current use but the staff were helpful, kind and efficient. Bathroom: there needs to be a more secure way to provide a surface to put a washbag/the contents on - above the loo is not great, otherwise good, and pleasant too. Room itself: the bed was good, I slept well. Nice desk and chair, and chair by the window. The location is naturally quiet, other than the soothing sound of an occasional train. The dawn chorus was wonderful. AND joy oh joy: I was able to open the window. Makes all the difference as hotel rooms are by default airless and too hot.
