“Full of character”
I had a single room with a shared bathroom. The room was small but beautifully furnished, and the bathroom was always free when I needed it. I really appreciated the 24-hour coffee and home-made cookies, and especially the free long-distance calls and free WiFi. The location is wonderful, too.
“Well kept secret”
My friend and I stayed in this hotel (actally, I'd call it a hostel) for three nights. It was like staying in an old victorian home. The room was so spacious and decorated beautifully. Each morning there was breakfast (cereal, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal) waiting downstairs. I only saw the staff when I checked out, but I didn't really need them. Everything was great. And it was SO convenient. Only a block and a half from the park and the T. I loved it and would definitely recommend it to anyone. The room was actually nicer than a large, expensive hotel around the corner where my friend stayed before I arrived. This place is a great deal!
“A Boston pearl!”
Very nice and cozy little hotel/B&B situated in a central location next to Boston Common. 2 minutes walk to the subway station and Newbury Street. I stayed at the Vassar room in 4th. floor, with a lovely interior and a magnificent wiev to Commonwealth Ave. A big double room with a very nice bath. Free coffee and homemade cookies available all day and complementary breakfast. I want to invite my husband back with me for our next US visit!! I was "ashstuck" in the US after the Iceland vulcanic eruption and very concerned about my stay and fligths out from Boston. A very helpfull manager saved my day when my plane got cancelled AGAIN. Tahnks a lot.
“Fantastic!”
Great bed and breakfast.
“we found a gem in the city!”
Great location and great value. We will stay at this hotel from now on. We loved how big the room was--filed with charming antiques.
“Beautiful, historical property, in unbeatable location”
I loved my stay here. It's not really a hotel, and not really a B&B -- it's a serene, beautiful old house in a great neighborhood, where you can rent a spacious, antiques-furnished room and get an authentic taste of how the upper-crust lived in 19th-century Boston. It's clearly not for everyone, but if fitness rooms, lobby bars, chocolates on the pillow, etc. aren't important to you, I'd give it a try.
“Great location, very affordable option”
I was looking for an affordable room in a good neighborhood and stumbled on this very quaint, comfy bed and breakfast right down the street from the Public Gardens! Unfortunately I arrived late at night, but I would come back in a minute to enjoy nicely furnished accommodations, walkable to the T, Newbury Street, great dining and historic sites!
“Enjoy the historical side of boston.”
The Hotel is a little creepy at first. You get used to it and the hotel becomes amazing. This old Mansion sits in a very nice part of downtown. I would love to show this place to friends and family! Stay here for an exciting evening!
“A real classic treasure in Boston”
The College club is the oldest women club in U.S.. The hotel is actually a big house. Very classically decorated. I found books in my room with the copyright of 1893. The bed looks nice as well. The only inconvience might be the shared bathroom. Single room does not have its own bathroom, have to use the shared bathroom in the same floor. But other than that, everything is good. The neiborhood is one of the oldest in Boston: the commonwealth Avenue. The swan park is within 2 mintes of walk. Very nice environment.
“Loved it”
I was delighted to stay at the College Club. I wish I had more than 1 night! There are 11 rooms in this row house, each designed by a different local designer in honor of historical colleges in the area. It had a wonderful homey, old fashioned atmosphere. This is a place for people looking for charm.
