“Nice, clean older hotel.”
The staff was very helpful. There is no parking at the hotel. However, there is a valet service that will park your car at a local lot for $20 a day. A nicer "extra" at this hotel was that you could store your bags downstairs & pick up your car later if you wanted to stay in town for a few hours after check out. My only complaint was that breakfast was not offered at this hotel, although all rooms had full kitchens, so one could just plan ahead and make breakfast in the room.
“cute, quaint, romantic”
room 204-awesome room, good sunlight, great bed, kitchen fully equipped-yes, dacquiris even, GREAT location, entertainment nightly in front, staff is very accomodating, time-share people did not bother us at all, courtyard quaint to enjoy wine and yahtzee, real charleston charm, fish pone and flowers pretty, watch getting out of the bed-taller than 5 foot!
“Perfect Hotel and Perfect Staff”
Everything was first class
“Totally Impressed”
We were completely impressed with the hotel. We had a newly renovated suite and it was really nice. It was great that we could cook breakfast every morning in the kitchen so we didn't have to rush out every morning. However, bring your own frying pan because the one supplied is very cheap. It was great having plates, silverware, dishwasher, coffee maker, etc. Bed slept very well and it was nice to have it upstairs so you didn't feel like you were living in "one room" for a week. Valet parking was a bit annoying because they were busy sometimes & it took awhile to get our car. We quickly learned to call down to the lobbey about 10 minutes before we were ready to go to request our car. Area was very nice and location was perfect. Could walk to everything except the beach, which we went twice. Water was surprisingly warm & people were nice. Would definitely stay here again in future visits. No real complaints here!
“Will use hotel again”
Enjoyed hotel very much, slightly dissappointed, no bar in hotel. Would have enjoyed a glass of wine in the evening.
“Awesome Christmas Vacation”
My wife and I vacation in May every year at Seabrook Island and we normally come into Charleston and visit the [crowded] Market. We thought it would be cool to visit in December , catch a carriage ride and see Christmas lights. Well, no cold weather,no Christmas lights and no need for the carriage ride. But no big deal. We went to James Island and drove through the county park and seen 3 miles worth of beautiful lights. This was the first time I have used Expedia and I am well pleased. The Church Street Inn was fantabulous. The staff was friendly and courteous. The location was great. The Market ,King Street shops and many wonderful restaurants were in walking distance. Also, no crowds. Thank you, Expedia, Church Street Inn and the city of Charleston for a memorable vacation.
“Location, location, location”
Right downtown Charleston, right on the market. Plenty to do and see. Hotel was very nice, cozy. It is undergoing renovations however, so sleeping in wasn't possible, it was quite noisy and they started at 8am with the pounding. Room was very nice, old style, we loved it. The bed was WONDERFUL! Would go again after I check on any ongoing renovation work! :(
“Quality in the heart of Charleston”
Charleston is a beautiful city on the coast of South Carolina. The Church Street Inn is idealaly located near the heart of the city. Fansistic Restaurants surround the hotel. An easy walk to Bay Street, where many of the Restaurants are located. Charleston is an OLD city. Horse drawn carriages will give you a tour with spoken backgouind by the coach drives. A terrrific visit. I was in town for surgery on the ear (drum replacement) at the Medical University which is located in the city. The hotel was a comfortabvle place to return to after the surgery.
“Great Location”
Perfect location in downtown Charleston, in walking distance to various tourist attractions. helpful staff, spacious rooms. Would use again.
“Perfect location”
We parked our car and left it in the garage for the duration of our visit. We were within a block or just a few more of everything. The hotel staff were helpful and welcoming and took good care of us. The room was on two levels and would have been great for an extended stay - it had 2 bathrooms (one per level), a living room and a kitchenette. We slept well both nights, and only once heard some mild street noise. Would definitely return and recommend the hotel to others.
