While the property was well located (for us) the grounds and layout were exception & inviting and the unit we stayed in, good, clean and presentable,
What seriously let this place down was the restaurant and dining service.
The Food was just food, very average, no wow factor and no Love shown on the plate with the presentation. The chef /cooks obviously were having a bad day or didn't care. I suspect the later.
The wait staff were un-inspiring, lacked training (or just didn't care), did not smile and chat with us about the food and menu, nor did they provide a wait service to our table that was anything other than mediocre.
The wine was plonked on out table in a bucket which we opened and we poured ourselves.
Plates, glasses were not cleared away in a timely manner and mostly we were ignored or forgotten while other customers came after and were served before us.
We waited for more than 45 minutes for the starter to be served, complaining twice about the delay before service.
On discussion with the manager, he agreed to not charge for the starters and discounted the mains, and while this helped appease the situation we left feeling very angry about our treatment as customers and members of the Acor group.
We selected Peppers Clearwater as it alluded to be a better class of hotel, accommodation and service.
Such a disappointment, - and for us - never to return or use a Peppers brand restaurant again.
