“Terrific Experience in Christchurch”
Beautiful in-town villa within easy walking distance of city center. Management/owner present to meet every need or request. Breakfast served family style including vodka for mix-your-own Bloody Mary! Parking on site; convenient to restaurants and entertainment.Spent 4 weeks traveling in Australia and N.Z. and this was our favorite hotel.
“Fantastic location”
beautiful hotel in a fab location
“We'll stay here again”
Great updated historic house in perfect location near park, museums, cathedral, the Avon, theaters, and more. Extremely comfortable room and tasteful decor throughout. Fun, tasty, and filling "continental" breakfast. Helpful owners and staff. We were sorry that we could not stay longer and look forward to staying at the Classic Villa when we return to Christchurch.
“Great Bed & Breakfast”
Wonderful centrally located place.
“They made Christchurch for us”
We didn't know where to go or what to do while booking our trip to New Zealand did some research here and read the reviews. But you never know for sure, This was a GEM of a place and we would recommend the CLASSIC VILLA to anyone and everyone that is going to Christchurch. Great location and people.
“Fantastic!”
Wonderfully friendly hotel in a great location in central Christchurch. Would wholeheartedly recommend staying at the Classic Villa!
“A beautiful building to stay in.”
A lovely family owned hotel with rooms that had characture. Close to the Arts centre, restaurants and with the tram stopopposite it provided the perfect location to explore the 'English city'. Breakfast was a friendly affair with the staff only too willing to help.
“Definitely a 'Classic Villa'”
From the moment we stepped from the car we felt we had found somewhere we would like, and we were right. We were made to feel very welcome in a huge kitchen, checked in, and then shown how and where all amenities we would need were in the kitchen area. Nice homely touch. The room was clean, the furnishings and decor very comfortable and easy on the eye. The en suite was a small, but sufficient shower room, no bath. The bed was very comfortable and the wall mounted flat screen TV was well placed. The wireless connection for the net didn't work though, but on mentioning this a cable was offered for use. The breakfasts left you with so much choice of fruits, breads, cereals you could have been forgiven for eating enough to last all day. The table was massive, well laid out, kept clean of used dishes and set with a lovely Mediterranean feel. Most guests we saw were all happily chatting together exchanging travel views, a good atmosphere. There was a plentiful supply of leaflets for the What to do/Where to go brigade, and any questions were answered by mine host with a good local knowledge. The location is excellent, a short walk to Cathedral Square, but in the Uni area so plenty going on, the trams also run outside the Villa if you just don't feel like walking. Only blot for me was the blinds on the windows in the room, being on the front and on the pathway entrance, we had to keep them semi-closed for privacy meaning the room was darkened most of the time we were in.
“Convivial and smart!”
We escaped for a quick weekend in wonderful Christchurch and were delighted with the hotel. You have to enjoy a bed and breakfast type of hotel for this one, with communal breakfast dining. The buffet breakfast was sumptuous, with lots of fresh fruit and full continental offerings. Great coffee, too! Nice gas fireplace for returning from our treks around town - perfectly located for the arts centre, botanical gardens and city tramping. Very highly recommended.
“Fantastic experience”
We really enjoyed our weekend break at Classic Villa. We enjoyed the personal service, breakfast was unforgettable. The heritage room was small but very comfortable. I'm sure the bigger rooms are perfect. The location is excellent within walking distance of many venues. We will be back!
