"We loved our visit to the Colchester Boutique Hotel. It's very close to the centre of town where there are lots of places to get food and drink and do a little sightseeing. The hotel has a quirky charm with several communal areas decorated nicely with art and antiques. We particularly liked the vintage cigarette machine. "First night there was a lot of noise from busy road and bar below (although it was mainly our wedding crew) but when we asked to move the 2 nd night they were VERY obliging and that room (8) was amazing. Food very good. (Dinner and breakfast) staff very friendly and all pleasant. "

"A fun building dating at one end around 1600 and the other 2016. The Tudor bits are wobbly and pokey as you would expect. The modern bits, modern. Helpful staff and a kitchen that poached eggs nicely for breakfast. For a budget option, this is a good stay. "
