Property Amenities
After a day's sightseeing, sit down in the lounge area or on the outdoor patio and relax, and maybe have a drink in the hotel bar. The atmosphere at Hotel Kong Arthur is cosy and relaxed. We have decorated the hotel with inspiration from the tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table: Painted shields on the walls, antique furniture, a grandfather clock, and the round table in the breakfast restaurant. And the history of the hotel itself is also visible: Remember to notice the grand staircase and the historical inscription above the oakwood entrance door.
In our 850 m2 big spa area, Ni'Mat Spa, you can relax and enjoy the jacuzzi, steam room, and cold-water bucket, and do not forget to try one of the various body treatments. Also, bring your running shoes or buy a Nike running set in the reception and take a nice jog around the lakes, or try our fitness room with state of the art equipment. No admission charge to either spa nor fitness room for Hotel Kong Arthur's guests.
At Hotel Kong Arthur, we also offer modern conference facilities with audiovisual equipment and complimentary wireless Internet access. The old stables house the conference facilities, providing the guests with a great view over one of our beautiful courtyards.
Rooms
The Hotel Kong Arthur has 155 rooms spread over five floors. All rooms and suites have bright classic, modern decor, and some rooms even retain original features such as wooden beams and period pieces. Free internet connection is available in each rooms, just as a flatscreen TV with cable, a mini bar, and a safe with room for your laptop. The bathrooms come with showers, hair dryers and toiletries, and some rooms have tubs as well. If you want to really relax in your room, book a suite and request for one with a jacuzzi and enjoy life's pleasures.
Due to the hotel's unique location close to the city centre and next to the inner lakes of Copenhagen, many rooms have stunning views of the roof tops and the hidden spaces of the city, and a few rooms even have views of the beautiful lakes. All guestrooms are non-smoking.
Room Amenities
Dining
Breakfast is served in our bright breakfast restaurant: A long, atrium-lit dining area overlooking the inner courtyard. Wide arches divide the room, which has a terracotta-tiled floor and is decorated with antique chests and pianos. We serve a full buffet breakfast with mainly organic products. Complimentary newspapers are available. In the summer, guests can enjoy breakfast outside in the courtyard.
Hotel Kong Arthur also holds 3 in-house gourmet restaurants:
La Rocca: Café and restaurant serving authentic Italian dishes for lunch and dinner. The cool grey of the walls is brightened by vibrant prints evoking Italy, and light wood floors contrast with sleek black leather seating. Large wine cabinets frame the stone bar and there is a children's play area with TV and videos. Courtyard seating is available during summer.
Pintxos: Contemporary Spanish restaurant open for lunch and dinner. Dark wood floors, large wine cabinets and zebra-striped seating areas. Split onto two levels, the restaurant is full of plants and cacti and features a recurring silhouetted flamenco dancer motif throughout. It overlooks trendy Nansensgade on one side and the inner courtyard on the other. Courtyard seating is available during summer.
Sticks'n'Sushi: Fashionable sushi restaurant with traditional Japanese decor. Long Japanese prints line the walls and guests sit on black leather seats around square tables. The restaurant overlooks Nansensgade on one side and the inner courtyard on the other. Open for lunch and dinner. Takeaway available. .
Recreation
The hotel is located by the inner lakes of Copenhagen; a popular area for walking and jogging. A map is available from reception with a range of suggested routes from 1.5 to 6.5 kilometres. Bicycles are available to rent from the hotel and guests can play petanque in the inner courtyard during summer. The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

“Great Hotel”
I stayed here in September and wrote that it was great but the bathroom was too small if I had had my spouse with me. This time I was upgraded and the room had a nice size bathroom so I you are more than one see that you have a room with the larger bathroom.
“Will be our first choice again”
We have stayed at Kong Arthur twice and hope to stay there again. Excellent service and impeccibly clean. Breakfast was tasty and there were many items from which to choose. It is also a great location in walking distance to many restaurants, sites, and shopping.
“Lots to see and do”
The hotel was lovely and well located. However, we had a small double which is exactly that. We are used to a larger room but it had everything we needed, although not a lot of wardrobe space for 4 nights. No doubt the more expensive rooms are more spacious.
“Watch out for parking charges”
Everything was good with the hotel until we went to checkout and we were asked to pay £65 for parking (4 days). We have stayed at this hotel at least twice a year for 5 years and have never had to pay for parking. Apparently they changed their policy in January and you now have to pay. As a gesture of goodwill they cancelled the payment but people need to know they will be charged for parking.
“Great hotel”
Kong Arthur is a great place to stay in Copenhagen. The staff are polite, the hotel is cool and the rooms comfortable.
“VERY VERY Impressive”
As soon as we walked in we were welcomed with candles, soft music and very helpful sataff. Perfect location, peaceful and right on the water, but close enough to centre. Got upgraded to a Large Double Superior for no extra charge! Spa is a definite must after walking around all day, very chilled. Would definitely go back. Fantastic city.
“Danish hospitality at its best”
Excellent location (nice walk around the lake opposite the hotel) and walking distance to Stroget and the centre of Copenhagen. Friendly and efficient staff. The breakfast is better now that it includes hot food. We will be back.
“Would definitely go back.”
A very pleasant stay while I was on a business trip. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. If I had to mention negatives there would only be 2. I was upgraded to a better room which was a ground floor one on the side of the inner courtyard. A car was parked outside of my room overnight and started up quite early. Luckily I needed to be up early anyway and the room was lovely. The room service staff didn't come to clean my room until about 3pm. I was back in my room by then. I would have preferred it if they had done it late morning or earlier afternoon when I suspect most customers would be out of the hotel. These were very minor issues and it certainly would not stop me going back there.
“Loved being along the lake!”
We loved walking to and from the hotel by the lake. It was so peaceful. The swans were beautiful on the lake. We walked from a soccer game and just about every where else. The lhotle was quiet and had crisp, fresh linens. We were close enough to walk everywhere without being in noisy conjestion. Sushitarian was a great close restourant!
“Beautiful Hotel, Comfy Beds, Excellent Service”
After being on a cruise for an entire week, we were hoping to get to a nice comfortable and intimate location. This hotel had it all. Although it was a little further from the center of the city, the walk to the metro took 5 minutes, and the extra comfortable beds and excelent service made up for the walk. I would definitely recommend this hotel for someone looking for a classic hotel with superb service. Definitely would go back.
