Host and staff were very helpful and pleasant. Displayed a genuine interest in their guests and their company. As a couple in our 70's we found the stairs a bit challenging. Great location by train station.

Would absolutely recommend!
This was the first place we stayed on our trip to Ireland, and it was a very good first impression indeed! Probably not for you if you're looking for something large and luxurious, but it was clean, everyone was very friendly and our breakfast both mornings was delicious!

The staff was exceptionally kind and welcoming. The room was comfy and quiet and I enjoyed my stay a great deal. Excellent breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon, etc. Would recommend!

Judy was a lovely host! Just the sweetest! Plus we were right across the street from the train station which was very convenient! I didn’t manage to have breakfast, but my partner did and he said it was very good!

Great location - wonderful host
Directly across the street from the train terminal and easy walking distance from both bus terminals. Very small but adequate in every way. There is no air-conditioning but most places don't have it. The breakfast was very good. We had a very pleasant stay.

Very helpful staff. I arrived later than the standard check-in time, and they were willing and able to accommodate that. The bed was comfortable; the hot breakfast was lovely (perfectly cooked / toasted); the staff were friendly and helpful.

Great place to stay
Very clean and comfortable room, great location too the town, 15 minute walk to the bus station and right across the street from the train station. We offered a full Irish breakfast every morning.

Great staff and clean rooms
The hotel is next to the station and a ten minute walk of the bus station. The family running the hotel is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. Although the room was rather old, it was as clean as it could have been.

Nice B&B close to the city and opposite the train.
B&b was excellent, decor abit dated but all you could expect is their. Room clean and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast was lovely home made and fresh if you wanted the fry but toast, cereal also provided in the dining room. The owner and staff were very attentive to your every need. If the staff could help in any way they did from directions, taxis and recommendation on places to visit or to eat. Would stay again any time home from home. Highly recommend it.

Not the worst.
I don't usually leave negative reviews, but... Clon Ross isn't a *bad* place to stay. It's a good location (5 minutes walk to the train station, 15 mins into Cork city centre), the breakfast is good, the place is clean and the staff are friendly. The couple who own the B&B are lovely. However, the other staff member, in my opinion, was overly friendly. I know how that sounds but when you've just spent the day travelling or are busy or trying to relax, you don't want people trying to catch you every time you leave your room just to repeat jokes to you. The rooms themselves are fine. A bit small, no problem. The site says there are tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms - there's not. There is WiFi which has good signal but the password is downstairs. I would suggest making a note of it before you go up to your room or else you run the risk of bumping into talkative staff again. Also, be prepared - it's so noisy! You can hear the conversations in the other rooms, everyone that is being checked in, and everybody running down to breakfast at 7am. I would stay here again if I absolutely had to - like I said, it's not the worst - but there are better places for €10 more.

Great location! It's right opposite the train station and is within 15 minutes walking distance to the city centre. The room was clean and very warm. The breakfast was tasty. I would definitely stay here again. However, I wish the prices were more affordable as there are cheaper B&Bs with a more updated decor.

Most hotels in Cork are a little pricey. We just needed a place to sleep. The hotel is not up to date at all. However, the woman who ran the place was very nice. The full Irish breakfast she cooked for us made was very good and made a difference.

Cozy place to stay...
The rooms are very cozy, there is no lift nor parking so keep that in mind when booking. Judy, who operates the guesthouse is lovely and makes a wonderful breakfast. The size of the rooms are alright for a layover but a long-term stay could get a bit cramped.

Where you do not want to stay
Booked 2 rooms . Cost me a 170 plus euro . Not worth it . It was disgusting but too tired to go anywhere else . Put the chair up against the door because no proper security lock on the door . Toilet seat was disgusting . Toilet was right up against the wall . Husband had to sit sideways. It was indescribable. For not much more money we had fabulous places in Ballina and bray
