The location of the hotel is superb. The staff are all very welcoming and accommodating, they were happy to help and to chat and were very informative about Hoi An and Vietnam. The room was lovely, very comfortable and a good size and serviced well. The little balcony outside the room was lovely, overlooking the river.
A few disappointments, we asked for a late check out and it was extended until 2pm, but we would be charged USD100 if we wanted it until 5pm. This was a Monday and we could clearly see, in the pool, in unused rooms and in the dining areas, that the hotel was practically empty, it would have cost the hotel nothing, but it would have been a simple and easy way to excel in customer service and consideration. I felt that the staff were following a rule and would not alter.
We were offered a late check out until 5pm if we arranged for a car to Da Nang airport through the hotel, but again, this was over USD100! We caught a taxi, large and air conditioned for USD25. The prices are not comparable.
Also, we ate in the riverside cafe, it is a superb location and the staff were very good. But the cost of the meal for two people was extortionate, especially the wine. The food was okay, but it didn't justify a bill of USD150!!! We didn't spend a third of that in the great restaurants in Hoi An, where the food was actually better.
We didn't try the spa, as again, it was very expensive. I appreciate that the hotel may need to charge higher rates, but when you h
