“Very friendly Place”
Hotel is older but well kept. We had a blast in the bar/ restaurant(and I dont even drink...) Very cost effective and great location. Easy access to Dallas. Nice Place!!!
“Can't wait to go back”
This motel was elegant. We were impressed with the solid marble tables and the etched glass in the restaurant. The cascading stairway that leads upstairs to a ballroom was beautiful. We have never stayed at a motel where the staff went out of their way to help us with directions or any other questions that we had. We look forward to staying at the Sterling again.
“Not bad for the price”
We chose the Sterling because of it's proximity to Texas Stadium - only 1.5 miles and the price. Beautiful Lobby and the rooms were clean and comfy (shower only in our room). One of our rooms had a pretty awesome view of the stadium. The Sports Bar was great - full of rowdy football fans before and after the game. The down side: service in the bar was sloowww, the restuarant was out of many menu items and the food they did have was mediocre. My biggest complaint is with the overall customer service. The front desk clerk was overworked and unfriendly when we were checking in. We called housekeeping for extra towels, but they were out of towels because the hotel was full. We had two lights out in our room and never did get any new bulbs, even though I called three times during our two night stay. My advice to the Sterling: Better preparation before a Cowboys' home game. You know you'll be packed, get ready!
“Great location”
Went to Dallas Cowboy game on Thanksgiving day and We wanted a hotel close to Texas Stadium. We were only 2 miles away(could see the stadium from our window) The staff was so friendly, I definitely recommend this hotel!
“Booked for Location”
Hotel booked for location. The condition and mainentance of the room was much better than anticipated given some of the negative reviews we'd read. The King size bed was comfortable, room was clean, water hot and air con worked well and quietly. The pool is lovely and there's plenty of aprking, reception staff were friendly. The only real issue were the doors to the lobby; they were old and heavy and difficult to open. The hotel is not modern, but is a good size with spacious rooms, nice views and close to the Stadium. We would stay again when wanting to be in that area.
“Just Fine”
If you are looking for a decent room with easy access to the freeway at a fair rate, this hotel will work great. However, they do not offer high-tech frills like high-speed internet in the rooms. They do have nice, large bar, if that interests you. The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly for the most part.
“Almost cold shower”
The hotel itself was decent looking, but the carpet in the room was badly stained, and the shower water was barely warm enough to take a shower.
“not bad for the price”
o.k
“Not bad for the price”
The hotel rooms were clean and the people were nice and helpful, the building was just old and needed some work, and the common areas were a little dirty. It was a good hotel for the price overall, and the rooms were very comfortable. It was also very conviniently located; just a few minutes from downtown and everything tourist-y.
“Not Bad for a weekend stay”
This hotel was probably hopping in the 70's, but now it's ok at best...bonus is it's 3 minutes away from Texas Stadium which is good if you are in town for a Cowboys game...that is why I chose to say there...downtown is only 10 minutes away, the rates are fair, the karoake bar is fun if you are into country western and the staff is friendly...a little run down for my tastes but suitable for a weekend stay...be warned that the hotel presides in a DRY part of Dallas meaning you can't buy alcohol unless you sign up for a UNICARD and the convenience store across the street doesn't even sell beer...WEIRD but not as weird as UTAH's drinking laws :0)
