"This hotel, while being very basic with no frills, had a super helpful staff and was VERY conveniently located by walking to everything in Southampton - the train station, ferry, museums, shopping district, etc. A shopping mall was right across the street with drugstore, food market, electronics store, clothing shops, etc. I found the hotel a perfect place to stay while I was in Southampton for a week."

"First of all -- this is a fantastic location. Looking out over the cathedral, and a few feet from the High Street, I can't imagine a better place to spend three weeks (as we did). "The hotel is a striking and unusual building, very handsome, though we would have appreciated better signs - the rooms in the 400s, which had to be accessed through the library, were difficult to find when first arriving. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the location of the hotel, near the seafront sights (the Mary Rose museum, Nelson's flagship Victory, etc) and the ferry ports.
