The property is beautiful, very traditional and in an idyllic location situated close to a lot of the main routes in Normandy making it great for getting around. "It was an adventure finding Belmesnil at night without GPS signal. We checked in late after resolving a minor confusion with our reservation. Found out that we had the entire chateau to ourselves for the night. My wife was afraid of ghosts but if there were any at Belmesnil, they were of the most welcoming and considerate kind. "We spent 3 days in the "cowshed" room at Le Bois Gautier. The accommodation was very spacious with a full kitchen and a large bedroom and bathroom upstairs. We received a warm welcome from the new owner Bill who had prepared a log fire for our arrival, this made the accommodation very cosy and was a great touch. "I booked this hotel for my husband's Father & Sons trip together so that they could do a historical tour of the Normandy beaches. The hotel answered every question I asked in a prompt and considerate manner. Since I wasn't going to be there, it was assuring to know that my guys were in good hands and the hotel even offered to pick them up at the train station at 9:34 pm. Much appreciated after a long day of travel! One of his sons made the comment that the hotel was a nice, cozy place to stay--something he wouldn't typically say. Thank you for all your kindnesses."
