"This hotel is located in a very good location, quiet, safe, and the breakfast is very rich. The service staff are very friendly and professional. I booked the Caesar Hotel for two nights on Expedia. Despite concerns about the Hualien earthquake, even if I couldn't get a refund, I canceled my trip to Hualien and continued to stay in Kenting. "Howard Beach Resort cannot be deemed a 5 Star resort, it's closer to 3.5 stars in western terms. The decor is outdated throughout the complex and in need of a revamp but overall it's comfortable enough. The games room is good but the table tennis and snooker tables are worn but just about useable. The "Gym" equipment need updating with weights that are rusty and seen better days. The pizzas on offer aren't worth the money you pay they are frozen variety and better off getting the burger...

"We stayed in their "family suite" with two rooms off of a central living space with japanese room with floor beds for our kids, and 3 bathrooms. This worked well for our 3 generation family of 6 and was spacious, convenient and comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful each day and the pool was nice, though hours were limited likely due to it being low season. The kids liked the slide. Over all very happy with the stay and value for money."

Externally the hotel looked a little drab and rundown but that just gave the wrong impression to our actual experience. Staff went out of their way to help. "Very nice hotel. It may be 30 years old, the room was very nice and does not feel old. The hot spring soak tub in the room was wonderful. The buffet for dinner was ok. Enough choices of decent food. All staff were friendly and helpful. The property is on a steep hill so it isn’t as easy to walk down and up. But the hotel has shuttle to local attractions as well as the train station."

"This hotel is a fun, hip option in the area...it was definitely my kids favorite hotel out of the 5 we stayed in during our trip to Taiwan. Our only problem was finding it, since there were no signs to identify it. However, when we called from a nearby 7-11 they came promptly & we followed them by car & we were only a half block away. The room was comfortable & modern with a small balcony but no ocean view (we weren't expecting one) but not sure if the 3rd floor would or not? There is a HUGE...

"Nice boutique hotel located just 2 blocks from the Pingtung train station where one can easily find regular trains to nearby cities. The facility provides breakfast, hot/cold water machine at each floor, and laundry facilities - great convenience for a busy traveler. For those traveling in the summer (we were there in August) - the climate is very hot and humid. "Overall it’s really only a 3 star BnB. The check in experience is not as welcomed, the staff had a rather cold attitude. The room is not as clean as the reviews by other people. The floor is not clean and very dusty-just walked barefoot about 10 minutes you get black feet. The shower head is leaking. The yellow chaise lounge is very old and weary, the fabrics got so many stains! The bedside lamps were off-we had to fix the bulbs in order to get it working. The air con filter was super dusty...
