Its hard to find where the actual hotel parking The lights on the entry does not work. There is no host between 10pm and 2pm. So you better check in before 10 pm. No breakfast even if you offer to pay, if you dont book for breakfast , you , no breakfast you. The room door us so hard to lock. It took me 15 minutes to figure it out. Because there is no one in the front desk, no one help you. I almost went to sleep with the door unlock. There is a banging sound in the wall every 30 minutes, all night. In short i will never come back and do not recommend this hotel. Actually i urge people not to consider this

Great stay at the Milton hotel
Turned up half an hour before opening at check in time 2.pm. Place was deserted, with for sale sign up . First thought it was a scam. But bang on 2pm lovely guy came to open up. Lovely stay, friendly staff , went out of there way to give us a double room instead of a twin room , which was booked by mistake . Full Scottish breakfast was fantastic and worth every penny for it . Would highly recommend.

Great Service
I was pleasantly surprised at the size and condition of the room. Thereasa, Reception and Barmaid, was extremely helpful and kind. In Room 10 I couldnt get a wifi signal and the TV reception wasnt good. Missed breakfast as I had an 8am start, but the Breakfast Menu selection looked good.

Comfortable accommodation close to Loch Lomond
A bit tricky to get to in car if you are coming west from Glasgow. Had to do a couple of precarious manoeuvres to get on to the very busy eastbound carriageway of the A82. Plenty of free parking to rear of accommodation. Reception is at the bar of the pub. The lady that checked us in could not have been more welcoming and helpful, she was really lovely. She told us that they didn't serve food themselves, but gave us a whole load of takeaway menus, and told us to have food delivered, and we could eat in the pub and she would give us plates and cutlery. We did just that, and had a fabulous Indian takeaway, washed down with a few drinks from the bar. The room was basic but comfortable. Downsides, there was a bit of noise from the road outside, and it was also clear that somebody had recently been smoking in the room, which wasn't great. All in all though, we had a pleasant stay, and would recommend to others.

Dog friendly and convenient.
Convenient location handy for a night stop on a long journey. Breakfast was good value and very filling. Very dog friendly, even the dog got a free sausage.

2nd stay.
Second time in four weeks stayed here at Milton inn. Lovely room set next door from the main building, comfortable warm room, excellent heating if required in room 16. Nice shower. Tea coffee making facilities, decent tv in the room. This room is not facing the A82 trunk road. Delightful. Staff in the pub section friendly and helpful.

Friendly and welcoming, great place to stay.
Good location, ideal if traveling to or from the Highlands and Islands to break the journey up, rooms nice and clean and the one I was in was very spacious. Good selection of beers etc in the bar and probably one of the best breakfasts I've been served in Scotland.

Location suitable for my purpose. Bed mattress aged and very uncomfortable! No phone in room for service. No hot water in vanity sink! Boiler repair first thing in the morning when I wanted to sleep in!! Repair man told me he had told hotel he was coming to repair. Nothing said to me and no forewarning!!

Strange place really,only saw a member of staff on the evening we booked in then not a soul any other time.. Can’t fault it for cleanliness of the room.. Bit old fashioned but for a couple of nights it was fine...We will be returning to visit our poorly relative again soon as it was so cheap to stay.. I guess you get what you pay for!

Bonus of finding a quiet dog walk.
Lovely comfortable bed and a really nice breakfast. I was staying with my dog as was pleased that there was a gate behind the hotel which took me onto a couple of quiet streets I could take him for an evening stroll.

Convenient stopover en-route to NW Scotland
We, and our dogs, were made to feel welcome. Our double rooms were a decent size, clean and the beds comfortable. Although hotel is on a busy road our rooms were at the back and we had no problem with traffic noise. Found a pathway at the back of the hotel where we were able to walk the dogs, which was a bonus. Hotel doesn't do evening meals but has a selection of local take-away menus so guests can order a meal to be delivered. A member of staff kindly set a table for us to eat in the bar area on the evening we stayed - and dogs allowed in the bar too. If travelling by car westwards towards Milton it isn't possible to cross the carriageway to get to the hotel entrance, so we drove to the outskirts of Dumbarton and were then able to double back. A no-frills hotel, but it was fine for a stop-over at reasonable cost

Fine for a night
It was fine for what we needed it for - a one-night stopover on the way elsewhere. We arrived late and checked out early. Went to use the kettle and it was covered in slime (mustn't have been used or checked for a while), and there wasn't a hairdryer when it stated there would be one, which was a bit annoying. Otherwise, fine for a night!

This was out first time in this area and we had gathered for a family wedding. The hotel was great, very clean, our room was bright airy and comfortable and the staff and service was great, they also do an excellent breakfast. We would stay again and would recommend it to friends.****

Cannot recommend!. Hotel on a VERY BUSY road where heavy trucks rumble along all night long! One of the 2 rooms our family stayed in smelled awful from cig. smoke. Shortly after we checked in all of the people who worked at the hotel were gone and there was no one on sight all night and in the morning when we left. There are no suitable restaurants within walking distance. Room was clean and bed was a 6/10 on the comfort scale.

The only problem is how to access the hotel coming from erskine as there is no right turn making it dangerous or longwinded to get to the enterance of your hotel

Fantastic Staff - Terrible Location
Pros: I cannot stress enough how wonderful the staff are here! Both of the people that we dealt with at the reception/bar were wonderful and so helpful! Really appreciated their hospitality! I would also like to recognize the housekeeping team! WOW! Every day we returned to our room it was immaculate! They did a fantastic job and we definitely noticed their hard work. Thank you! Gave us a room with 3 beds instead of 2 and we appreciated the extra space. Held our luggage all day after check out which was also appreciated! Cons: Terrible Location. Hour bus ride into the city centre. Hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Our room had a broken window and a strong cold draft coming in under the door. We could not get warm!

Welcoming, once you manage to find your way in
First entry to the hotel can be a bit off-putting. The exterior could do with a paint and there is a definite pub smell as you first enter. However this doesn't carry up to the rooms which are clean and pleasant. Staff were helpful and friendly, especially at breakfast. The main downsides were the hardness of the mattress and the road access. If you are approaching from the Glasgow direction there is no break in the dual carriageway to turn right into the hotel and you have to travel a fair distance down the road before a suitable gap appears.

Good value for a night stopover.
My stay was brief as was looking for a good deal on somewhere to get my head down for the night. Despite being close to a busy road I was not disturbed and slept well. The room was in a building away from main reception, but close to my vehicle. No elevator, not an issue for myself and suspect someone would help if this was a problem. I was welcomed and shown to my room by a helpful and affable receptionist/ barman. Was aware in the morning as moving around that floors squeaky. Decor meeds attention in places, and the tiling/ edging in the bathrooms makes it hard clean. Weird cupboards in the space going to the bathroom which hadn't been looked in as were chocolate wrappers in one. Overall was good value for a night, the room was very spacious as was the bathroom. In the same circumstances would stay again.

Perfect for a close airport stay
The hotel was very clean and staff very friendly. Right off the highway w/ lots of parking on the side of the hotel building. This is perfect for a cheap, overnight stay if you have an early flight the next morning. Gas station is 5 min away and open early in the AM (if you have to refuel a rental car) and the airport is 15 minutes away.
