We had booked a double room and got a king instead. The room was on the terrace level, corner room and was great. We loved overlooking the river. The grounds are beautiful.Bed was great.Very clean and comfortable. We would definetly choose this hotel again.

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Fairbanks Princess. Lobby is great and has lot of activities to keep you occupied (puzzles, chess, tv). Food in the restaurant was decent for hotel food. Only complaint was no Pay Per View Movie option. Our room had 1 station of HBO, but our travelling partners room (same type) did not have HBO.

Hotel was well maintained, friendly and free airport pickup at 1:30 AM was a great benefit.

“Hotel fine, some tourists too loud”

I always try to stay at the Princess when in Fairbanks. Usually I come in the winter on business. This time I came in the summer at the height of tourist season. Some of those tourists (mostly gray-haired like me) talked too loud and late in the hall. They should know better than to do that.

“Nice Stop in Fairbanks”

Enjoyed an overnight stay on a business trip at a decent rate. Dinner was fine, and the room was very comfortable--only thing I missed was coffee in the room. Good wireless throughout.

“Texas-Alaska... Cold Place Warm Hospitality”

I was staying there to attend a conference at the hotel. The staff was very friendly, courteous, and always willing to help; even the ladies in the gift shop were super-nice and helpful. OK, now...true story...I had injured my thumb 3 weeks ago and split my fingernail in half. I have to use this type of super glue to keep it together until it grows all the way back past the split. My fingernail busted open getting my luggage at the airport. I asked at the front desk where I could purchase some. We went to the gift store to find some. They were out. She radioed the maintenance man. He had some and would bring it to the front desk. I went to dinner. The lady from the front desk (sorry I can't remember her name) brought the glue to me during my dinner and found me in the hotel! What a great staff! The rooms were kept very clean. When I slept late my last day the maid came by and I said please come back later. In every other hotel I've ever been in, they never do. She actually came back and cleaned it! Yea! The food in the restaurant was phenomenal; you should try the mac-cheese with lobster. It sounds funny, but man it was good. In the bar/grill they ran a little late getting my food out, guess what they gave me the employee discount! I have the worst luck of any traveler but at the Princess I felt right at home and had no problems. The drivers for the hotel were really friendly even at 5AM. The atmosphere of the hotel was nice with fireplaces and animal statues, I loved it all.

“All's well that ends well!”

While they didn't do what they said they'd do, they did what they do well. Because we had to change hotels the morning we had a very early departure for an excursion, we placed our bags to be held for our return with the "bell captain" at the front desk. On our return, all our bags were gone! The desk staff found the desk note about the bags being placed in their care and where the bags had been placed, but no bags. The staff was excellent with ultimately the hotel manager taking us to the next hotel -- where the bags had been delivered to our room! With nothing more than our luggage name tags, Princess did what they do pretty well -- move bags to the next location -- even though, in this case, they really weren't supposed to! Otherwise the Riverside Lodge is still nicely maintained on beautiful grounds. I really love its Chena River setting!

“Brand new hotel in great downtown location.”

This hotel is less then a year old and in great shape. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location too.
