“Beautiful ocean view, yet far away from the crowd and the gridlock of traffic on Seawall Blvd.”

We stayed Labor Day weekend (2011), and it was extremely pleasant. There was no huge crowd, like there usually is near the center of the island. With no restaurant or nightclub, the lobby was exceptionally quiet and peaceful. It was very relaxing watching the sunset, while sitting on the oceanview balcony. Also, there were no rowdy swimmers, since there's no sandy beach across the seawall... only huge granite rocks, which attracted only fishing enthusiasts and a few pedestrians. The staff was very friendly and courteous. They served delicious breakfasts in the dining room, which included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, biscuits and gravy, in addition to all of the usual continental cuisine. There's no valet parking here, which is just fine with me. The parking lot is right there in front, and I ALWAYS love parking my own car. After my visit here, I give Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites an A- on everything. And I'm looking forward to booking many more reservations here!

From the entrance to the 3rd floor, everything was nice, fresh, tasteful "hotel" decor and clean. Opening our room, we were in awe how spacious and beautiful a standard room was w/nice amenities. We will go back!

Everyone was polite and helpful. The view from the room was great. Close to all area attractions.

“Great Place to Stay”

My husband and I were very satisfied with this hotel. Check in/out was quick and easy. Room was clean and inviting. Location was ok; not around much, but it was fine. Breakfast was ok. Same thing every day so it got a little boring. We didn't pay luxury price for hotel so we didn't expect luxury breakfast; but, enjoyed not having to go out and buy breakfast. Room was humid and felt sticky. However, I think might feel like that at most hotels since Galveston is so humid. We would definitely stay there again.

“Galveston's best Hotel (for a nice price)”

There was a problem with my credit card, used at the check-in. For some reason or mistake they charged me what was already paid to Expedia plus others charges. I called them and were willing to solve the problem; in few days Manager apologized for the inconvenient and return the money. Excellent hotel, friendly staff, nice location!!!

“Great room, nice hotel, Ocean front, but NOT beach front!”

Holiday Inn was nice, check in was easy & the room was very clean. The breakfast buffett had many choices, muffins, cereals, eggs, toast, yogart, etc. The swimming pool is small, so we were unimpressed with that. Location is on the seawall, but there is NO BEACH in front of the hotel. We had to drive a few miles down the seawall to take the kids to the beach. The ocean is right across the street, but there are huge rocks instead of sand. Also, the cleaning crew left our hotel door ajar the entire day while we were out on the beach! Nothing was stolen, but I was very disappointed that it happened. This location is very close to Moody Gardens.

“Excellent hohotel”

The front desk help was very nice and helpful! The room was beautiful and spacious. The free breakfast buffet was one of the best I've ever seen and had many choices. We were allowed to check-in an hour early. We were allowed to extend checkout an hour and were still allowed to use the pool and then the lobby bathroom for changing. It was just a great experience!

I used to live in Galveston, and it takes a lot to impress me and make me comfortable. I was very pleased with the location of this hotel, the attentiveness of the staff, and the price we paid. Good job Galveston. I am impressed.
