"I booked for this hotel and tried to cancel it through Expedia. Expedia tried to call the hotel but no one spoke English. We attempted to do this several times. They were unable to get an approval, so i could not get a refund. It takes like 2 hours to get to the airport from here. What a joke! Don't even bother booking here."

"The room was definitely not as good as the pictures made it look. We got a room with two beds. One of the beds had ants in it! The bathroom had a bathtub, but as soon as you turn on the water, the bathroom floods because the tub is just for show... the drain is in the middle of the bathroom. we didn't take a shower. "On the Golden Halong website, it states the hotel has a spa, gym, tour desk, room service and bar. It has none of these. The staff speak minimal english, making it difficult to ask for advice on local attractions, restaurants or shopping. The location is terrible, no where near the marina that all the tour boats operate out of.
