“Helsinki's most central and convenient hotel”
Very cheap fees for 3 nights for a twin beds room. The room was a bit small to north American standards, yet cosy et very convenient for essential services. Perfect for a short business stay.
“Comes highly recommended”
This hotel provides excellent accomodation and service plus is located in the hub of the city - easy access to train and bus stations and great for hopping onto the trams. Would definately recommend this hotel and the fabulous buffet style breakfast.
“My favorite hotel in Helsinki with a great breakfast buffet”
This is a great new hotel, finished just a few years ago. It's my favorite in Helsinki. Its location is perfect, walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Its decor is Scandinavian: clean, sleek lines, modern furniture, very nice if that's what you like. The suites with a deck, sauna and a separate bedroom/living room are my favorite. Their breakfast buffet is absolutely awesome, they have a huge selection. There's something for everybody from the basic stuff to Finnish acquired tastes like pickled herrings and traditional delicacies like Karelska Pies with Egg Butter, yum! The staff was very polite and accommodating. My car got locked into the parking garage during their off-hours and they helped me get it out of there when I needed it, on time, and I didn't even have to pay anything for their extra troubles.
“Wonderful Hotel in Helsinki”
The location is great, the staff is great, the room was great. Our bags were lost when we arrived - the staff went out of their way to assist us (no luck, though we were reunited with bag 5 days later in Sweden!). The Scandic Hotel Group serves the best breakfast buffets of any hotel we have ever stayed at. We had a great buffet at the Scandic Byporten in Oslo as well. The room was well lit, quiet and extremely comfortable. We would love to return to Helsinki and stay at the Scandic Simonkenta, or any other Scandic hotel, based on our experiences.
“location great!!”
Fantastic location in the centre of Helsinki near to shopping, bars etc. and is only 10 minutes walk to the main Harbour. Would highly reccomend to anyone.
“Will return.”
Our second stay.Ideally placed in the centre of Helsinki. The breakfasts were a real experience! We will return.
“Happy in Helsinki”
The location, character, comfort, service, and food were all excellent. The centre of the main area , with a shopping centre and square adjacent was ideal. The hotel was extremely busy and yet this did not detract from the breakfast service/comfort, although it is a buffet it is well laid out with plenty of seating and plenty of food. One point, if you are in a hurry for dinner do not dine at the hotel, however, the food was good value for money compared to eating in simalar restaurants outside the hotel.
“Great Location”
This is a very modern hotel in a great location. The elevator takes you straight down to the main bus terminal, Kamppi. It's very close to the railway square, Stockmann's, and the Esplanade Park. It's only a 10 min. walk to the market square/waterfront.
“Would stay here again and reccomend to anyone visiting Helsinki!”
The hotel is very modern and stylish but comfortable. The room was simple, with very comfy beds, lots of storage space and lots of plug sockets (important for charging phones / laptops / camera batteries) The temperature of the room was stable, never too hot or cold. We really appreciated the free wi-fi as it helped us to plan our sightseeing and where to eat and drink in the city, without having to consult a map whilst out and about in the cold. (-20) The hotel staff were very friendly and happy and left us alone most of the time which is just the way we like it. You almost felt like you were in your own private appartment with a cleaner and a chef! Which brings me to the breakfast, which is by far the best breakfast buffet I have experienced! A good mixture if healthy and not so healthy, but very tasty food, here we discovered the Finnish RICE PIES! yum yum, and of course enjoyed a traditional english brekkie. The hotel bar had a nice relaxing atmosphere, and I hightly reccomend a pint of Karhu (Bear) Beer. We would definately stay here again, it's so central for all the shops and sights, and not too far from the airport.
“Would definatly stay again”
This hotel is perfect for anyone staying in Helsinki. The rooms were great & had everything you need. A refrigerator was the only thing missing but you didn't really need it. The location was great.
