I booked the suites for 4 nights and the price was decent, not expensive to compare with other 4 Stars hotel. The room is spacious, very nice bathroom and modern decoration. Staff are friendly. Will book again next time.

The rooms are really small! The water took forever to get warm. When asking for extra towels, they gave me attitude about it. They didn’t restock toiletries on the daily. The gym is tiny. It was only $50 night, you get what you pay for? The daily breakfast buffet was decent though.

Clean, nice, comfortable hotel – not much English
Athena Hotel is a clean nice and comfortable hotel in the heart of District 10. The staff is very attentive, and overall the hotel offers good value, particularly for business travelers. It is not in a touristy area so don’t expect much surrounding for English speakers. It is more suitable for Asian or North American business travel, less so for families and tourism. Included breakfast is a combination of Asian and western breakfast buffet options. The staff is very helpful and attentive, although they try hard, English is not strong for most of them. Communicating with the front desk was generally not a problem. I highly recommend upgrading from the deluxe to the superior room, where we stayed, as my understanding is that the lowest price deluxe rooms do not have windows. Overall we were very happy and would stay there again.

I traveled to Vietnam & HCMC a couple times every year. Typically I stayed in Dist 1 and 3. My first time here in Dist 10 (local/non-tourist area). The hotel is clean & my room (senior luxury) was large with a set of sofa & coffee table. My only complaint is the bathtub. It is impossible to take a shower without the water dripping/running everywhere onto the floor. There is no shower curtain and the partial glass screen does not help. The breakfast in the morning is adequate, nothing to fancy. It will get you full and ready for the day however. There is no swimming pool and there may be a small gym on the first floor (I think). There is a Big C supermarket next door that sells everything. The area has numerous restaurants, but catered mainly to locals. There is the new beautiful SVH Mall about a mile away. It's worth checking out - I just walked there a couple times. As far as tourist attractions, if it's your first time in HCMC, stay in Dist 1 or 3. Stay here if you want to get a feel of locals daily life pace. During my stay, there were a couple large tour groups of Chinese and Koreans. Overall, a very good clean hotel for the price. It is a bit far from the tourist areas however.

I stayed for three nights with trips to Can Tho and Phan Thiet in between. The hotel staff was very attentive and helpful in storing my luggage. The room is clean and spacious. Breakfast is good.

Overall, I was very pleased with this Hotel. Only thing, I didnt like was my room did not have a window and i had to upgrade it. It felt like i was in prison cell. It costed me $72 with tax to get a nice view.

To whom it may concern, My name is Bao Huynh, my friend and I booked 2 different rooms. My friend is Filipino and my wife aunt is Vietnamese. The front seat gentlemen said he can not allow my wife and aunt in with me and my friend cause my friend is a minority . ( Filipino ) he said he doesn’t know if they are prositutes ( exact words- la gai ) I will never visit or tell anyone about Athena . This beginning the stay was ok until the horrible service from the front staff .

Athena is the BEST!
Athena is one of my favorite hotels in Ho Chi Minh. The rooms are extremely clean and modern, and the staff is very helpful and courteous. My wife and I stayed here after our wedding party, and the Manager took the initiative to help make our experience absolutely incredible. A+ service!!!

Very Rude and unfriendly staff.
Nice hotel but staff ( Front desk) very Rude, unfriendly and lier. Don’t waste booking this hotel as this place is far from the real HCMC action. Book hotel in & around Dist. 1. Staff here lied to me on multiple times eg. When I ask for ICE they said Resturant is closed. I called Resturant direct and they delivered the ICE. They tried charging me two bottles of water and I only consumed one. When I told the front desk staff he got very angry at me. I end up going in the room with staff to show them that I consumed only one botttle. No Iron, No pool, breakfast very ordinary. I booked one of the suit and paid TOP $$$ I really regretted. The day I checked in front desk female staff told me that she will help booking rental bike for me next day when I went to the counter they simply denied and told me to go to the Dist1( city) and book the bike. Worst staff I have seen in my 11year of traveling career.

Our reception staff talked with your husband, they will guide you how to go to district 1 for rent a bike not help you rent a bike. 2. Our receptionist staff doesn't ever has angry with any guest. 3. About the Ice, because you make request Ice at 10:00PM and at this time our restaurant is closed, that's why our receptionist staff tell you the restaurant are closed and they don't know still have any restaurant staff are available. But when you make a call directly to the restaurant our staff gave you the ice => it's meaning you can see after working hours our staff still bring the best service to the guest. By this message, I'm pleased to notice you please make a real review because during your stay at Athena, don't have any time you directly conversation with our staff. There is no iron in the room
It was great for one night stay. The shampoo and conditioner are so bad. So make sure dont forget your own. Only thing is they dont supply iron, a little bit annoy when you travel with suitcase and the clothes only need a quick touch up. I remembered seeing the info about no iron when booking but didnt put a know on it until I get there and realised it was so annoying without the iron. Anyway, it was a good stay

Not a bad hotel, helpful staff but after I spilt a small amount of coffee on the bed sheet I was made to pay a laundering fee, not a fee that should be put back onto the customer considering it should wash out fairly easily. Would go somewhere else next time

Nice hotel close to lots of little shop to eat.
Hotel is nice and clean. Staff very friendly. Only down size is the policy for guest visiting very strict. There's no iron in the room so very things have to be send down. Which we thought it would be free but we end up spending more than $100us for ironing our clothes. Late 10mins for buffet breakfast we can still eat but will be charge also without any notice. When we check out most of us paying over $200 us total for little things that should be free.

Don't use their airport pickup service they charge 3 times more than a taxi. Taxis are everywhere reliable and cheap. Manager hard to deal with. Wouldn't recommend too far out if city. $10 Aus every day to get to city in taxi

I'm was staying this hotel for 20 nights, I'm really enjoying a lots. The breakfast it was good and the service from the bell man through front desk and room attendant. But one night I lost room key the hotel charge me $100,000 dong which is $5 USA, I'm not happy about it.
