First visit for us Richmond Tasmania best decision was to stay at Farmstay. Breakfast basket supplied, room comfortable and clean and only a few minutes out of town. Great value for money.

The experience we have had staying here is nothing short of perfect and wonderful. On arrival we were taken to our cottage and shown around, everything was absolutely spotless and every accomodation was made for each member of my family (cot for the infant and offers of a high chair and other baby related things if needed). Daily an absolutely enormous breakfast basket was delivered at a time of our choosing that included freshly baked bread and home made jam! The fact that the bread was still warm was an absolute added bonus. An animal feeding experience was on offer and thoroughly enjoyed by my 2 year old and husband, to the point that the 2 year old is still telling me all about it! If you want to stay in a beautiful, homely BnB with hosts that genuinely care about your stay then stay here. This was our first holiday as a family and they made travelling with a 2 year old and a 10 month old an absolute breeze. We will be back and cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Sharon and Kim are lovely hosts with great knowledge about the area. We love staying here with our family as a base to visit Richmond and the surrounding suburbs. The continental breakfast each morning was beautiful and prompt and was a great way to start our very busy days of sight seeing. Would definitely come back

This is our first time staying on a farm. Both my husband and I enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. Sharon and Kim were both very friendly. We always looked forward to Sharon’s freshly baked bread every morning.

A lovely farmstay property. The cottage was immaculate and cozy. The owners are so caring about their animals and my daughter had such a wonderful time feeding them all. The breakfast basket is very good especially the warm bread and eggs. We would recommend to anyone coming to the Hobart area to spend a couple of nights on this farm!!!

Nice Farm Stay
hanks to Kim and Sharran for making our stay a memorable one. It’s tough to having manage the 30 acres farm by yourselves. Our kids love the trampoline, flying fox and swing area near the trees and the walk to the river. Wren cottage was very clean, new and comfortable. DVDs are available to entertain the kids. You have to observe the recycling rules and how the water is recycled for watering the plants, etc. You need to either buy groceries from iga at Richmond town or drive down to woolsworth or Coles at Sorell. Breakfast was brought by Kim at 0730hrs and it was refreshing, especially with sharran freshly baked bread and the lemon butter..also the fresh eggs laid by the chooks there. Animal feeding was at 0830hrs and the kids get to interact with chooks, ducks, sheep, alpeccas, horse, pony and rabbits that urban kids do not have a chance to experience. By the way, all the animals have a name.... poco, lambo, Donald, daisy,..... My daughter just love lambo, the 4month old rescued lamb who behaves like a baby following sharran around. Definitely a place to unwind from your urban hustle and bustle lifestyle. More

We are a family of 4 including 2 kids. We had an one nite stay at the farm's family cottage which is fully equipped, clean and neat. We had a whale of time during the stay. The kids loved the animals and enjoyed patting and feeding the chickens, ducks, rabbits, sheeps and horse and etc. The owners are extremely friendly making us feel comfortable during the stay. The breakfast was amazing, particularly I love the bread and lemon butter jam that were homemade by the owner. The eggs were collected fresh for our breakfast. I would highly recommend this farm stay.

Breakfast basket included freshly baked bread and eggs straight from the farm. Joined the morning farm tour and got to feed chickens, ducks, rabbits, sheep, alpacas and a horse. A thoroughly enjoyable farm stay.

Well maintained cottage
Very clean and well maintained cottage. Amenities well provided. There is wifi and sumptuous breakfast as well. Unfortunately, we only stayed for a night. Will gladly come back for more nights in future. A great place to chill! Cottage is not far from places of interest (presume everyone will drive in Tasmania)

A really lovely place to stay, close to Richmond. Better get there before sunset as there is really dark nearby, and make sure to book animal feeding in the morning, kids all enjoy it!

Immaculate Rooms in great location

We stayed here for 3 nights. Tara was a lovely, cheerful hostess who was very helpful. She provided a breakfast hamper in the morning. The accommodation was self-contained, clean, spacious and had everything we required including laundry facilities. It was in a quiet rural area, a short distance from the historic, colonial, small town of Richmond. It was also convenient for Hobart Airport.

Everything has been considered and catered for
The brekky hamper was a daily delight. Kids loved the animals and freedom. The local town of Richmond is a step back in time with beautiful buildings but meets modern needs. Absolutely wonderful experience - we will be back.

Wonderful farm stay
In our recent stay in hobart i wanted somewhere that was away from the big noisy city and I found Tara' s farm stay in Richmond A lovely family run farm stay with just a couple of self contained cottages making you feel like your the only people there. My kids loved going for morning walks in the paddocks and meeting all the farm animals and feeding the chooks each morning was a treat. Only 5 minutes from town too..

Fantastic family stay
Such an amazing place. Tara was a fantastic host. When we arrived she gave us lots of information of things that we might like to do around the area. The Kookaburra apartment that we stayed in was beautiful. So spacious and well equipped for our family of 4. Breakfast provisions provided each morning are to die for, and include fresh homemade bread and spreads. The farm animals are so friendly and waking up to ducks and chooks at the back door was so sweet, and the kids loved interacting with then We loved every minute of our stay. It wasn't too far from the town's, but it was far enough to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We can't thank Tara, her family, and the animals enough for our fantastic family holiday.

Nice hostess, real and genuine. Very approachable.
We had a very relaxing stay at our cabin. We had intended to spend more time in Richmond and eat dinner there, however Tara's cottage was so cosy any home-like that we dicidef to stay in and chill! The kids lived feeding the animals and us adults enjoyed the farm tour! I'll be back, Tara! Beautiful home grown Pino Nior went down a treat as well!

Worth giving it a go.
Internet didn't work unfortunately and it is a known issue. Not that you should be at a place like this sitting online, but if you are there with kids it could pose an issue. Nice place otherwise. I think there is an open fire there somewhere but we didn't see it. Possibly in the main house. Would have been nice on a cold night. Tara was lovely. Obviously cares about what she does.
Thank you for your comments. I really do care about our property and our guests and will do what I can to ensure your stay is enjoyable. There is wifi available on the property at all times, at the reception area, outside the main building and in our Wellington and Sugarloaf apartments. Unfortunately we have been unable to find the cause of the intermittent problems with the wifi in the cottages although we are continuing to investigate.

Wonderful quaint property just outside the city.
Great setup for our family of four with 2 teenage children. Very nice accommodations and wonderful breakfast. Tara is wonderful and does a wonderful job making her guests feel right at home!

I found the accommodation to be wonderful, the staff friendly and helpful. Great breakfast hamper, with fresh baked bread that was still warm. Also a great opertunity to walk around the farm and see different farm animals. I will plan to stay here again, next time I am in the area.

Tara was so welcoming - I enjoyed staying in the Wellington Suite on her farm. Very clean and lovely - roomy - comfortable, and an excellent continental breakfast which included blueberries,. banana, yoghurt, home-made jams, homemade fresh warm bread, juice. YUM!

When we reached the farm, the dog Blackie came out to our car and welcome us. It is impressive! Blackie is nice to my son. We had a nice conversation with Tara and she told us about the farm, her work and her plans for the farm. My son enjoyed the ride on pony pretty much. The farmstay is the only place that provides slipper throughout my trip in Australia.
