“Awesome hotel and we decided to start going every year and use the same hotel!”
The place was very nice. It was in great location with Sliders restaurant right across the street and the beach entrance right beside Sliders. It was great to fin out that we could drive out on the beach which saved us from carrying a lot of stuff to the beach. The room was fantastic! The bed was very comfortable and it was not your ordinary mattress like other hotels. We upgraded to a room with a balcony and the view was awesome. My girlfriend and I decided that we are going to make it an annual thing and use the same hotel and recommend all other visitors to do the same!
“Good value and location”
Very well run.
“Second year staying there!”
Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Next to beach and places to eat. Wonderful continental breakfast and very nice staff. Have stayed for two years. Best value by far for price. Have no complaints and will go again. Beds are amazingly comfortable and rooms are big!
“Superb!”
The hotel was very clean and the room spacious and comfortable (five pillows on the bed!). The room also had a coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. The staff were helpful and the continental breakfast superb. In terms of comfort, location, and service, everything was perfect. I will definitely be staying here next time I pass through Amelia Island.
“Really Happy Vacation”
We had never been to North Florida before and did not know what to expect. Fernandina Beach has a great beach - not overbuilt or crowded. The historic downtown area is cute and the people are very friendly. They have a good Saturday Farmer's Market. Usually we have terrible luck finding good places to eat while on vacation, but we did not have one dud this time. We loved the Bright Morning Cafe and Patty Cakes Bakery. We took a day trip to Cumberland Island, which is beautiful and worth the trip and the cost. We will go back for another vacation - without a doubt.
“Great Location”
Friendly Staff
“Great location”
I spent 3 nights at the Amelia Hotel at the Beach the first week of May and was very pleased. It is located across the street from the public access beach, several restaurants are across the street in either direction, along with a beach/surf shop. Grocery stores are just up the road so everything was very convenient. The room was great with a little sink, microwave and mini fridge. I was on the back side so had a view of the parking lot but I don't spend much time in my room anyway. The pool was in the back, basically in the parking lot so the lack of privacy from people coming and going might bother some people. The breakfast was pretty standard - scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, pastries, cereal, yogurt, bagels and some waffles/french toast that could be warmed up in the toaster. The front desk people were friendly and helpful, providing area info. There is a nice porch with rockers but it might not be so pleasant during high season with lots of traffic, and there is a small workout room with treadmill, elliptical and bike. I would definitely stay here again.
“Great Vacation!”
Great hotel! Clean and comfy. Great continental breakfast. I truly enjoyed my visit!
“Can't wait to return!”
What a great hotel! We arrived duriing a violent storm that knocked out power to the island. The owner and her staff made us comfortable in the lobby with towels and free drinks until power returned. They even gave us an unsolicited room upgrade for the inconvenience! Thruout our stay the staff was consistently friendly and helpful. The room was exceptionally well designed for a beach hotel, with a large tile entrance for sandy shoes and clothing. Exceptional access to the ocean. The public beach across the street is amazingly beautiful and virtually deserted, no matter the weather or time of day. Also, the best seafood we found on the island was a short walk away. Great running and bike routes are everywhere, including the Egan's Greenway system of nature trails. We considered changing our plans so we could stay longer. You'll love this place!!
“We will definitely stay here again”
What a great hotel! The location is unbeatable- directly across a little two lane road from the beach, down the street from the Publix/Walmart for groceries. We were worried the beach would be crowded since it was also the parking for public beach access- but no worries, we always found a good spot. My husband really enjoyed the breakfast- I loved how big the rooms were. The beds were very comfortable, the pillows were the best! We had a room on the back side of the hotel, facing the parking lot, but it was cheaper than an oceanview room. If we wanted an oceanview, we went outside. Eat at Moon River Pizza- best pizza! The Crap Trap coconut shrimp were also good. Ate at Brett's Waterway Cafe also- kinda pricey. We will definitely be back to Amelia Hotel and Fernandina beach.
