Lovely place to stay
"Stayed here for two nights during a walking holiday. The Manager and staff are very welcoming, the atmosphere is very informal, the local beer is very nice and the food in the restaurant is fantastic! There is a good sized car park to the rear. Breakfast is a limited choice, full Scottish or the components of it you want, any type of egg, and help yourself to cereal and toast. Tea and coffee in a flask ready when you go in and hot. Our room was a decent size, a bit of a squeeze to get past the end of the bed, decent size TV. Shower was lovely with a moveable head so you can reach those awkward bits without having to be a gymnast! Mirror light didn’t work so I couldn’t plug my toothbrush in to charge (or razor) but I forgot to mention this at Reception. Sash window was held open by the room information folder when we arrived. I removed it and found out that I then had to stand on the windowsill to reopen it as the cord was broken. Loads of tea and coffee provided. In summary the George and Abbotsford is a lovely place to stay if you don’t expect the Ritz. Immaculately clean, good food, good beer and good company! We will stay there again."
