“A super hotel.”
The location of this hotel is excellent - right next to Hauptbahnof station and within 15 minutes of Marienplatz. The standard of the hotel is outstanding. The food is of a high standard, though expensive. The staff are also extremely good. Rooms are very comfortable (but without a bath in the two we had) with good coffee making facilities and Bose Wave radios! If you are travelling from Munich airport, the train is much cheaper than a taxi (we had a one day ticket for 5 of us to travel for 20 Euros all day) and if you stay here, is direct! All in all, we had a great trip to Munich in large part due to this hotel.
“Best in Munich”
Top, Top Hotel in Munich. In hotel dining is just OK.
“Clean and luxurious!”
The hotel is lovely, most of the staff were pleasant and helpful, most speak English. The breakfast buffet was lavish but extremely over-priced. My suggestion is to purchase your own pastries or fruit at local bakeries and use the coffee maker in your room. The only criticism I have about the Sofitel Hotel in Munich is we found the staff of the restaurant to be unpleasant and rude. There are so many other choices for meals outside the hotel it was easy (and cheaper) to simply walk out and go somewhere else. Our room was luxurious, clean and the beds were especially comfortable. As iPad and iPod users we were delighted to find ports in our room to charge and use our equipment without the worry of using power converters! We found the fact that the hotel is located right next to the main train station to be very convenient as we traveled in and out of Munich throughout our trip. The hotel is in easy walking distance from Marienplatz (the main tourist attraction), a shopping mall and is right on the city tram line.
“Good choice for a romantic week-end in a big city”
The whole place was exceptional, from the clean modern lines of the bar and public areas and the quirky pool in the spa downstairs to the cleverly designed mini suite on the top floor which was spread over two levels and really felt unusual. I would really recommend splashing out on a little extra on one of these. Didn't try either of the restaurants but room service breakfast was good and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly at all times. Although the station might not seem like the most glamorous location we found it convenient for the Metro and it was only 15mins walk to the centre of town.
“Sofitel Munich Bayerpost -”
My first trip to Munich. The hotel was excellent. Courteous staff, very comfortable room, smart spa and a very easy walk to get into the Old Town from the hotel itself. Would go back without a doubt.
“would definitely go back”
Top notch hotel, great service, very clean. It is what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. It is located right outside of the central train station, at the same time, very quiet. Depending on who you are traveling with the hotel bathroom might not be the most private as it has a sliding slightly opened door. I would definitely stay here on my next trip to Munich.
“Worth staying there”
The location of the hotel is great: it's very close to the Marienplatz, 10 min by walk. The service in the hotel is perfect, decoration of the room is in high-tech style. Good noise insulation. We enjoyed our staying.
“Fabulous Hotel”
This hotel is attached to the main train station, and is superior in all respects. The rooms are large for Europe, have Bose sound systems, flat screen TVs, espresso machines, complimentary Evian, and overall are impressive. The staff is wonderful and the spa facilities blew my wife away. You are a 10-15 minute walk from the main shopping areas and beer gardens. The only drawback in the proximity to the drug users, drunks, and homeless people that hang out outside the train station a few hundred feet from the front door of the hotel. I would not let my wife or children walk around alone there, as I am 6'3" and 250 pounds and still was accosted by one of them. I thought I was going to have to fight him on the street in broad daylight, which I was not in a hurry to do in a strange country where I don't speak the language, while accompanied by my scared wife. There were lots of police in the area at night, but they do not keep the bad apples away.
“One of the best hotel I have ever stayed in”
Hotel is very modern and clean.Staff are kind enough to show us where to walk around the Munich and gave us a map. Food at main restaurant was delicious. We definitely go back to this hotel whenever there is another chance to go to Munich.
“excellent quality”
clean, comfortable hotel located in the central of the city, just next to railway station. very friendly staf, customer driven approach
