"This is a great hotel option right in the heart of Oxford. The street around it is a bit busy and slightly grimy, but once you step into the downstairs entrance to the hotel you feel safe, comfortable, and everything was fresh and tidy. Our room was on the backside so we had no street noise issues. The room exceeded my expectations for the cost in its charm and features. This is a great option for a midrange priced hotel! I would definitely stay here again."

"Cleanest room I’ve ever stayed in. Really nice staff and helpful. Only downside was the sofa bed had a thinner duvet so it was cold, and the desk space was really small so not much space to put stuff down."

"My stay at Vanbrugh was fantastic from start to finish. Quick and easy check in and everything well communicated. Location was fab and easily walkable to the local tourist sites and eateries. The room was spacious, toasty warm, cosy and with lots of character. Supplies of bottled water, coffee pods, cookies, toiletries etc were good quality and replenished daily. I had a lovely view over Oxford Union but with that came a little noise at certain times. So if you're looking for a quieter room ask for a room away from the frontage. Having said that it wasnt an issue for me and I enjoyed the view. Highly recommend the hotel and would stay there again."

"From check in to check out we were very impressed . We had a drink in a very smart, comfortable bar before going up to our room . The room was spacious , clean and vey comfortable . We loved the ‘Dove’ products . Nice touch . We slept well and enjoyed a hearty breakfast next morning before checking out .. Overall a happy experience ! "
