“Great Hotel”

This being my first visit to Paris I had done a great deal of research prior to picking the Hotel Des Grands Hommes. The choice proved to be an excellent one. the hotel was clean and comfortable as well as being well located, being a 10 minute walk from Notre Dame and only 200 metres from the RER line from Charles de Gaulle Airport. Some small points that enhanced my opinion of the hotel were that when I needed a copy of a map for a walking tour the receptionist quite happily copied this for me and being on a late flight home the hotel were happy to keep my luggage. All in all the hotel added to a most enjoyable trip and on my next visit to paris it is my intention to stay at this hotel, indeed I have already recommended it to a colleague who intends to visit Paris next year.

“Top Notch”

We could not have found a more pleasant base of operations for our stay in Paris. Location was perfect, about 3 blocks from the Luxemburg Gardens with its hub of bus, metro, and RER stations. Hotel is across from the Pantheon with a 3 block walk to the Latin Quarter. The neighborhood is quiet, but busy during the day hosting a great number of tour buses visiting the Pantheon. Hotel also has connections to a reasonably priced shuttle to CDG airport. The entire staff bent over backwards to be cordial and helpful in every respect and at any hour. All staff was fluent in English. Rooms were tastefully decorated. Hotel featured a 24hr bar and optional breakfast in the room or in their dining room. This will be our home on all future trips to Paris.

“Great Hotel in at the Pantheon”

Excellent hotel. The room was warm - couldn't tell if there was air conditioning or not. There was noise until late at night from the plaza across from the hotel, but that is not the hotel's fault.

“Pretty good if expensive (like everything in Paris)”

Can't fault it really. We were at the very top, room 62, which was fairly small but clean and comfortable. Nice bathroom. Friendly staff although the maids repeatedly ignored the "don't disturb" sign we left on the door. Expensive, but so is everything in Paris and, unlike much of Paris, it didn't smell of wee, which was a bonus.

“A little gem”

Our room was small but perfectly formed. The hotel is not to big and the service was personal, polite and with good humour. I'm saving up to go back.

“Excellent views and helpful staff, would recommend!”

The location of the Hotel was lovely, quite easy to find from a nearby Metro station. Nearby were some wonderful shops and lovely cafes, and at the bottom of the road is the gorgeous Jardin du Luxembourg. As far as the room goes, we thought it was just right for a few nights stay in the city. Bed was extremely comfortable, there was ample storage and the room and hotel were decorated to classic Parisian taste which gave a classy feel to it all. Also the view of the Pantheon from our balcony was wonderful to wake up to - it was 50 metres across the road! Although not cheap, the breakfast was lovely and great quality. The staff were friendly and very helpful, booking us a Taxi when we couldn't find our own way to a restaurant, and were very fast whenever we needed anything. I feel as a young couple on a first visit to Paris, our savings were well spent on this hotel.

“Unexpected upgrade”

Nice room, very friendly, English speaking staff. Highly recommended. At checkin, the first thing they told me was that they were upgrading my room for free to a room overlooking the Pantheon. Great view and unexpected, particularly since the hotel was not full so they didn't have to do it.

“Beautiful Parisian bolthole”

Just back from a wonderful trip to Paris and have to wax lyrical about the fantastic Hotel Des Grandes Hommes. Located in the centre of the city on the doorstep of one of Paris' most impressive monuments, the Pantheon, Grandes Hommes is a lovely little hotel. Our room was immaculate; small but beautifully decorated with typical Parisian flair. I have to mention the bathroom - it was huge! SO not like a bathroom in a Parisian hotel... It's also worth mentioning the attentive and helpful staff, who were polite enough to endure our shocking French and humour us in our practice! Anyway, at the Grandes Hommes the Metro was only ever 10 minutes away and on your doorstep you not only had the Pantheon, but the Luxembourg Gardens, the Musee de Moyen Age, and the Quartier Latin. I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent hotel to anyone considering a visit to Paris.

“Fabulous hotel!!”

Our stay at the Hotel des Grands Hommes managed to exceed our expectations!! The hotel was absolutely lovely, impeccably maintained and oh, so elegant! Our room looked out at the Pantheon and the view was simply breathtaking! And the room itself...it was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and simply fabulous!! We found it to be quite a comfortable size, with two large closets and a spacious bathroom. And the bed was large and comfortable and extemely inviting! My daughter was finishing up a year studying in France and I went over to collect her and all of her things. We had two nights to spend in Paris and this hotel helped to complete our absolutely magical visit to Paris! Needless to say, after a year in France, my daughter had several very large suitcases and we were able to fit them comfortably in the room and the closets. The location in the Latin Quarter was wonderful. There were so many great restaurants within blocks of the hotel and it was an easy walk to Notre Dame, the Luxembourg Gardens, the Luxembourg metro stop and, well, it just felt like the best location. People (students) did tend to gather outside the Pantheon on Saturday evening but we didn't find it to be disruptive at all, even though we faced the Pantheon. I booked this hotel based on all the positive reviews I read online and I was so pleased with my choice. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a fabulous hotel in Paris!!

“Pleasant stay - outside renovation underway”

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights late March/early April 2012. The room was small, but cosy and interestingly decorated with 18th-century style wall fabric - it overlooked the back courtyard so there wasn't much view, but no street noise. Hotel staff were helpful and pleasant. Customers might want to know that at this time the front of the hotel is being redecorated with scaffolding covering the facade - though this doesn't impinge on the interior.
