This is definitely my all time worst experience. I can’t believe the property falls under the category of hotels, it’s barely a hostel with room in worst condition. Save your money people and go camping instead.

Shabby but convenient - served a purpose
The room was shabby and run down, nothing like the photos I saw when booking, but it was clean and the bed was OK and the hotel was VERY convenient for a ridiculously early train from Gare de Lyon station.

It’s really hard to stay in the room. The ceiling is VERY low that you actually have to ban down or lower your head. No elevator/escalator. You have to carry all your stuff your own to your room. Breakfast wasn’t something extra ordinary, very basic. Not worth the money. The only positive side is that it close to train station and there are some restaurants.

For Paris & Gare de Lyon, Fabulous
Older hotel with a 4-floor walk-up and moderately cramped bathroom. Still, for Paris, it was fine and its location for train access at Gare de Lyon was superb. Surrounded by several non-listed TravelAdvisor restaurants where only locals gather, the hotel also provided a good breakfast.

Gare de Lyon hotel with tiny rooms and no lift
Very plain hotel close to Gare de Lyon. Handy for the station but little else to commend it. Tiny rooms up a winding staircase although rooms on lower floors looked larger. Shower so small it’s impossible to use without knocking off the hot water supply. Breakfast is ok but hotel is not as cheap as it ought to be.

Hotel near Gare de Lyon
We needed a hotel near Gare de Lyon because we had an early morning train. Hotel du Midi fit the bill and was quite fine but for the fact that it did not have an elevator and we were on the top floor and we had a lof of luggage

It is located only 4 minutes walk from Gare de Lyon. The front desk people were very nice. But if I knew in advance that they do not have an elevator, I would have not stayed here. My room was 4th fl walk up. They helped me with my suitcase both check in and check out time which was nice. The room was not well heated and it was very cold days. This hotel will be great for young budget travelers. I am just too old.

Do. Not. Recommend. We checked into this property before leaving Paris at the tail end of our trip. For $120 a night it is considered a “deal” for Paris I suppose but it felt like it was worth a lot less. Upon check in the staff was extremely rude. We had a long day traveling to get back to Paris and I believe it was evident. The front desk staff member in the midst of checking us in took approx a 5 minute phone call while we stood there sweating carrying all our luggage in the cramped entryway. After this, she assigned us our room, the highest floor on a 80+ degree day. There is NO AC in any rooms. After asking to switch rooms to a lower floor she said “this isn’t possible” Even with the window open with the busy side streets below us it was so. Hot. Didn’t sleep a wink. Also, WiFi is listed as a service but it never worked on any of our phones, laptops, or iPads. When asking the front desk clerk about this she said “wel it must be all of your devices, there’s nothing I can do”. Overall, unfriendly and unhelpful staff, 0 amenities. Tried to get a refund for the second night but this was also declined. A waste of my hard earned money and a real low point of our vacation. Will never go back.

Good and cute place
Very good location for stores, restaurants, metro, bus stop, bus to airport or train station. It’s a quiet place and has comfortable bed to have a good sleep. But no elevator for four floors and the toilet has smell

When you stay in Paris during the summer season lodging is tough. This was still a little bit of a surprise given the photos and description. Our room was on the top floor with no AC and the neighborhood did not quiet down at all the entire night.

Nice and central to restaurants and transit
Nice little hotel and great staff. Close to subway and train station and lot 's of restaurants and brasseries and other bakery goodness. Beds are firm and comfy. No mini fridge in the rooms though, you can buy fresh drinks at nearby supermarket. Reasonable price for the location.

We arrived late at night and left in the morning so the main criterion was its proximity to the station. It served its purpose though probably not a place to stay longer.

Cozy loft room for a night
We had one night in Paris and was allocated a loft room, it was hot on summers days and could have done with a fan. The bathroom is very small with a shower that you needed to enter sideways. For a night it was fine, but any longer you would have wanted a bigger room. The photos Expedia shows you do not match the loft room we were given

Was used merely as a stop over for a early morning train at Gare de Lyon. The hotel was ideally located (about a 5 min) walk to the station. The biggest cripe was the fact that the hotel had no lift and you had to lug your cases up, in our case, four flights. Not suitable for anyone that has any physical disabilities. Just an average room for a layover, nothing more nothing less

Hotel du Midi Gare de Lyon
We stayed one night at the Hotel du Midi on our way through Paris and chose the location because of it's close proximity to Gare du Lyon train station. Super easy to find and very close. Quiet street in the busy Bastille area. Very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. No elevator and hotel was showing some wear but rooms were neat and clean. Overall good experience for the price.

Cramped and no lift
No lift, so we had to lug our cases up stairs to the third floor. Tiny room under the eaves, impossible to reach the microscopic bathroom without ducking under roof beams - or banging your head on them. Bed quite comfortable, room clean, pleasant service, handy for Gare de Lyon.

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. However, our room was really small with a window that opened onto scaffolding in a small courtyard. The scaffolding was as large as the courtyard and made us a little nervous. The room was very small...barely enough room to walk around the bed. This wasn't much of a problem for us, but the shower ties with another hotel for worst shower ever. It was very clean, but there was no where to put your soap/shampoo etc so it had to be placed on the floor. The only problem, was that it was so small that you couldn't bend over to pick any of it up. I'm only 5'4" and I had a hard time fitting into the shower. We were given the wifi information but it did not work for us. The bed was confortable. Thankfully we were only there for one night because we were leaving early the next morning from the gare de lyon. We chose the place because it was super cheap and very close to the gare de lyon. For super-budget travelers it is fine for a night...although, I would spend the extra 20-30 for a nicer room/hotel if I had to choose again.

Overall, this hotel is nice. If you are unfamiliar with hotels in France,you should know that this hotel is typical of low-cost hotels. It is within walking distance to both Gare d'Austerlitz and Gare de Lyon, which is great. One problem is the lack of elevator. Not convenient for travelers with luggage. Additionally, there was no real storage room for our luggage that we were unable to carry upstairs. We left our luggage in a back room, which I personally don't think is very secure.

Hotel is old and lacks ameneties but was clean and convenient for Gare de Lyon from which I had to catch an early train. Reception friendly enough. Neighbourhood fine, plenty of people around even late at night and lots of options for eating. Note no lift if you have a lot of luggage. Would not recommend if looking for a special experience, but I stayed for one night and thought it reasonable value for money given it's in the centre of Paris, hence I rate it 3 out of 5.

Prix totalement exorbitant absolument injustifié ! 2 étoiles bien payé pour un accès aux chambres par un escalier étriqué bien sûr sans ascenseur. Aucune ventilation, fenêtre ouverte la nuit sur les réverbères pour un peu de fraîcheur. Ni frigo, ni clim un minuscule Nespresso. L'unique intérêt est d'être à 300 mètre de la Gare pour 3 nuits sans petit dej' à 600 euros soit plus cher que 5 jours à 2 heures de vol, hôtel demi pension comprise. Du délire ! À 10 mètres un an autre proposait les mêmes prestations à 140 ...
