“Very good hotel highly recommended! I will surely go back!”
I went to Paris for a rhinoplasty operation so choosing the right hotel to recover in was very important to me. I stayed at the Mercure after reading the reviews and selecting the location as it was close to my hospital. I checked in early with no problems. The room was large- very clean had a huge king size bed and a pull out sofa as well as table and chairs. Bathroom was modern & clean. I usually stay in 5 star hotels and was very surprised with the quality of this one although only 3 star it was very modern and not at all tacky. Staff were very helpful with everything from ensuring I had a quiet room to recover to giving me cutlery and plates to eat my food with as I ordered from outside restaurants everyday. There are restaurants bakeries and supermarket all within 5 mins walking distance and the area was very safe - my mum came with me and was very happy walking around at 10pm on her own. Travelling to centre of paris cost approx 11 euro by taxi but the metro stop was just opposite the hotel which you could easily use. Please note I didn't have breakfast included and always had my food from outside which I think is the cheaper option as everything is so close plus it's all fresh. Good hotel if you want to relax from an op or have a comfortable base while sightseeing not a luxury hotel but certainly not budget. They also let me check out late on my last day as I wasn't up to waiting around in the lobby for two extra hours with no extra charge.
“Great for family”
We had a fantastic time. Staff was very accommodating and generous. We were so pleased with everything--location right at the metro (Port du Versailles), buffet restaurant was fabulous (though a bit of light music would have improved the atmosphere). Parisians are wonderful people too!
“Mercure Paris Vaugirard Porte de Versailles”
Stayed at this hotel late march 2011 with my wife and 2 daughters for two nights and was very impressed overall . check in and all dealings with the hotel staff were positive ( even allowing for my shocking French ) The room was cleaned to the point that I was embarrassed by the mess my girls had left and we were upgraded from a standard to a premier room for no extra charge !. The location is very convenient for the expo centre and the nearest metro is no more than 50 mtrs from the lobby and there is a tram stop just out front . I have no idea what the food was like as my budget just about allowed for the subway round the corner next to the supermarket . We did not investigate the local area too much but most of what you need is down Rue De Vaugirard ( left out the lobby then left again). On checking out (11am) we were allowed to leave our bags in the baggage room for most of the day whilst we spun around paris for the last time before returning , picking them up , and catching a tram to the mainline station and on to CDG
“Great Value for Money”
Location excellant with metro less than 50metres from hotel entrance. Hotel staff very helpful - a spacious family room with fridge and safe at no extra charge. Good quiet neighbourhood. Would recommend this hotel to friends and family and would definitely use it again when returning to Paris.
“value for money”
We stayed at Marriott Courtyard Hotel at Victor Hugo Blvd for 2 nights before Mercure Paris Vaugirard Porte de Versailles. The price is doubled plus we have to walk a long distance to the Metro station. Mercure Paris Vaugirard Porte de Versailles though not in the city centre and takes longer to get to the city, is right next to the Metro. The cost to travel is the same for Metro, one price per trip or a day pass. It is also convenient to go to airport. You can take the tram to Metro station, Citi Universiti which is direct to CDG airport. I did not take the tram but took a cab to the Metro. It is more cost effective since traffic is terrible. Rooms are big by Europe standard. Also free WiFi
“Huge Room but no kettle”
Stayed at this hotel for Easter. 2 children with us and we got a huge room (411). Massive bed and sofa bed for children. Sheets and towels changed every day. Room very clean. No kettle but reception staff lent us a thermos jug and showed us how to fill it at the breakfast room on the mezzanine floor. Staff also gave us a jug of milk. Breakfast very expensive at 19 euros per person but there is a great bakery and supermarket just around the corner.
“Mercure Paris Vaugirard Porte de Versailles”
The hotel was very close to the Porte De Versailles metro. The facilities at the hotel were adequate and access was available to a computer and printer in the lobby area. The rooms were very nicely decorated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breafast at the hotel was very nice. At the time of staying there was no dinner facilities, although there was a nice Italian Restaurant around the corner on Rue de Vaugirard. There was also a supermarket on the same street. I would most definately stay in the hotel again.
“Great Value For Paris Hotel”
I would highly recommend the hotel especially if you plan to travel as a family. I have 2 kids and finding a resonable rate for a family of 4 was pretty challenging. The rates for our stay was reasonable and the room as big enough for all 4 of us to move around. I would say that this hotel room was in the American standard in terms of size & service. The hotel had a nice lobby and bar and the staff spoke english were all very polite and helpful. The hotel is right outside the Port De Versilles Metro stop. Across the street is a breadshop (for those on a budget this is GREAT) with lots of delicious pastries & sandwiches. Adjacent is a grocery too. The only thing that may be an issue to some would be the fact that it is not at the heart of Paris. It's along the outskirts of the city but the Metro right outside so that kind of makes up for it. But do consider that the Paris is not too big to move around. The other thing is that the room's AC didn't seem to cool off enough. We didn't mind it though as it was still early spring when we arrived so was still pretty cold out. I could imagine that it may be an issue for the summer months though. Overall, this hotel is good value for your money in Paris. No frills but clean and comfortable with very friendly and helpful staff. Outside you get the Metro and a bistro/restaurant is also next door. We would definitely book here again on our next visit.
“Amazing value for money.”
Whilst this Mercure hotel is not close to the city attractions, it is very quick and easy to get to on the Metro - you could hop to the Metro from the front of the hotel. Fab Patisserie and supermarket around the corner. Really excellent hotel receptionist and concierge. Superbly clean room. We travelled with 2 children and had fab sofabed, kettle and small fridge. Both beds very comfortable indeed which is something I grip about if I'm not satisfied. Beds were so big and comfy. Room and bathroom exceedingly clean. We had a 3 night stay, flights with Air France for 4 people for amazing value for money. We spent more money than that on museums, meals, shopping and sightseeing etc. Cannot wait to go back. Kids aged 11 and 9 had a fab time. Paris is so clean, as is the Metro. The French have good reason to be proud. No drunks or anyone making a mess on the streets - the UK , and especially London, has a great deal to learn from the Parisiennes.
“Very nice”
Hotel was very comfortable and convenient to metro stop. Breakfast buffet was excellent. They were having some renovations done but did not negatively impact our stay. We arrived very late (3am) and the night staff member was very pleasant and helpful. Would stay here again.
