The location is within walking distance to the train station and fine dinings. The property is newly renovated and the price includes breakfast. Staff are extremely friendly and the property is clean. Hihgly recommended!

The staff was friendly and allowed us to drop our luggage off early and helped us set up our tour’s & reservations in the Douro. Location is so easy from the train. The hotel is beautiful, clean, quiet and comfortable with food on-site if you get in late. The complimentary breakfast was excellent! Thanks so much!

Breakfast option was really good, the wine at the bar also. Room was comfortable, loved the shower head also. Really easy to access by the train station, 5 minutes away from the river.

Ok place in central Regua.
The hotel is in a central location in Regua. For such a. Highly rated hotel we were surprised by some Shortcomings. Staff couldn’t help us find a few coins for parking. No umbrellas available to lend on those pouring days. And the breakfast had no hot items. We were a tad disappointed overall.

Charming historical hotel, recently renovated
Nice hotel, friendly staff, good location in the center of town, spacious room, healthy breakfast. Be aware that parking is on the street and you have to feed the meter, although overnight is free. A train track runs directly behind the hotel but the trains are actually very quiet and stop after about 11 pm. They never bothered us.

Everything was excellent ... Only thing is the elevator is slow ... Like really slow! Breakfast was awesome.

Olá We are pleased to read your comment and to know that you enjoyed your stay with us. Our elevator is incredibly slow, yes and if you allow us we will leave you an explanation of our choice. The Original Douro Hotel is the result of a rehabilitation in a building inserted in an urban rehabilitation area in which we were not allowed to change the exterior dimensions of the house and it was unthinkable to leave aside the introduction of an elevator that would jeopardize the comfort of our guests. . Given the difficulties and restrictions on site, this was the only solution we found on the market that fulfilled the function. Still, it has its advantages. Did you know that this technology reduces our impact on the planet? It's a slow elevator, yes, but environmentally friendly and super quiet :) Thank you for your visit and we hope to see you next time. :) Até já

The staff at the Original Douro Hotel is knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The rooms were very nice. We loved the refurbishment they have achieved. The breakfast was incredible. We loved everything about our stay.

Great rest in Douro
Great place in Regua in the Douro Valley. The location in the middle of town is excellent, with several great options for good restaurants. Parking was easy - and free overnight on the street, but beware that parking is metered after 9am. The room was very quiet, nicely renovated; the bathroom was very nice and functional. The breakfast was superb! And everyone was oh-so-friendly! Loved this place!

Excellent hotel. It was remodeled in 2018 and is super nice, modern while still maintaining some of the original structure and and charm in the interior design. Short walk to the river boat cruises or the train station, and a short drive to the quintas across the river. I recommend this hotel when staying in Peso de Regua

Exceeded expectations
Nice place. Sort of old world meets ikea as far as architectural design goes. Has the slowest elevator but for good reason, so it is quiet for guests. Breakfast was nice also. I would recommend and it was very good value.

This property had a great location, and a tasty breakfast. Unfortunately the beds were very uncomfortable and the walls are paper thin, so it's possible to hear complete conversations in the halls and the train passing behind the property on a very regular basis.

This hotel is very conveniently located to explore the Douro Valley. The staff were absolutely wonderful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Highly recommended (!) and thanks to those working the front desk and preparing breakfast for being so accommodating, helpful, and kind.

Fabulous place in Regua
Fabulous hotel. A few minutes walk from the train station. Beautifully renovated building. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Fantastic continental breakfast.

Stay here! This beautifully restored hotel is a labour of love that is a delight to behold. Rooms are large and comfortable, there are lounge areas on every floor, the breakfast is full of homemade goodness, and the shop has unique and beautiful local handcrafted artisan items that you won’t be able to resist. BUT, stay here because of the staff - they will help you in every way to enjoy their Duoro valley area and find tours and restaurants that will make your time there amazing.

Beautifully restored hotel. Service was warm and welcoming throughout. The presentation and quality of the food exceeded our expectations, particularly the free continental breakfast. We stayed in a room at the back of the hotel where some train tracks run. The occasional train did not bother us and they don’t run all night so it was not an issue for us. A very classy hotel for the money.
