We have stayed at the Bahia Príncipe resorts many times but this was our first stay in the south for this chain. I don't have any complaints about the service and staff there at this resort. They were all very friendly helpful and accommodating. The rooms have that old school charm but are outdated. The bathrooms need better lighting and they need to update their pipes for water pressure et cetera.
We have no complaints about the food and the selection available-especially at the snack bar by the beach. We were very surprised at the amount of food and variety they had there every day. The only disappointment was the beach water. The photos show crystal blue ocean and white sand but for some reason the water was murky green and unswimable and alot of seaweedand wood chips washingup to the shore.. The photos sell you on blue waters like the ones nearby in Bayahibe but it was the total opposite and it was a real bummer for me. We would literally drive twenty five minutes east just to enjoy some beautiful beach days in Bayahibe. If I can't see my feet in the ocean, I don't want to walk in it-Especially when there are jellyfish which seemed to be a problem during our stay. There were guest complaints about seeing jellyfish and some people were stung by them as well. Someone even wrote in the sand to warn others-funny but not funny. Pool bar was great. The pool was great and never an issue.Finding chairs on the beach. But I guess because no one really wanted to be there to swim.
