“Pet Friendly”
Very happy with the service provided. Room including the bed linen was clean and smelt fresh, the bathroom appeared to of been recently updated and was of a high standard of cleanliness . Our pet dog, a Springer Spaniel was well recieved and we encoutered no problems during our stay. Breakfast was excellent, the choice was extensive and the food of a high standard. We would certainly use the hotel again and would not hesitate recommending it to others. Thank you to the staff, especially at the front desk for giving us details of areas close by for walking our dog. Well done.
“Great Hotel”
Most enjoyable stay. Excellent facilities.
“scotch corner hotel”
some bad reviews on here i found totally unfounded. The hotel was clean well furnished and friendly a far cry from the cheap chains that are of a comparable price. Breakfast was superb good food great quality.
“Holiday Inn Scotch Corner”

“convenient place to stay”
reception pleasant and helpful
“a great break from the city”
For a one night stay - whether it be travelling to or from Scotland - or just an escape to the countryside, it's a lovely place. The hotel is not glamorous as such, but the facilities offered for the price are excellent - we went and enjoyed a day of swimming and relaxing in the sauna & steam room - which is complimentary with the overnight stay. The quiet location - though very close to the A1 - aided the relaxation. After the relaxing spa experience, we headed downstairs to take advantage of the hotel's dining facilities - the food is exquisite, and well worth the visit on its own for. Whilst the menu is not extensive, everything from presentation to strength of flavours was spot on. The only negative of the entire experience really was that the food had to be ordered from the bar - with a nice setting and the quality of food, it just felt more like a place where you would order from the table - and pay after, not before the food is brought to the table. All in all, very well priced relaxing location for anyone wanting a dinner, bed & breakfast or a weekend break.
“Good Value and Very Convenient - Will use again”
Large hotel with lots of space for your money. Our bedroom was huge. Very few guests (or staff) as it was the first week in January. Despite the refurbishment, we had access to all facilities and there was no noise disturbance. Interesting building, just needs some homely touches to make it feel more inviting.
“practical choice”
Landmark building, friendly staff, good facilities, ordinary food. Likely to attract passing trade or business travellers.
“Good weekend break”
This is in a great position for touring the north Yorkshire,or a stop over to Scotland. If the weathers bad go relax in the leisure centre. They do not throw you out too early in the morning so you can have a swim before you leave. That's if you haven't eaten too much for breakfast.
“Good value”
Staff very pleasant and well intentioned, if a little amateurish at times. Considering the location of the hotel, my room was extremely quiet..... A comfortable chair, would have been nice though. Bathroom, seemed to have been recently refurbished, but was spoiled by the absence of any soap.....You expect high level hand dispensers in a Travel Lodge but not in a proper hotel ! Despite these niggles a good stay at a reasonable price. Would not hesitate to use again.
