Thon really is a great property. If you can get the balcony room. So nice to sit out and look at the water. They place was super clean and the beds were very comfortable. As a matter of fact I’m ordering euro comforters like they have to take me back.

I was not pleased with this hotel. The tv didn't work, the coffee maker was not working either, the phone didn't work and my room wasnt cleaned. The beds were made everyday and the garbage taken out but dirty cups left and not changed and sheets were not changed all week. I had to complain 3 times before anything was done and no one checked or followed up to make sure all was working correctly. I definitely will not be staying again....the hotel is a 3 star but didn't have any amenities as most hotels do. Very dissappointed!!!

Trip to Ahoy
Me and my daughter stayed for 2 nights, it was a good location for our trip to Ahoy. Trains was nearby and Tram stop outside. Our room was clean and the bathroom looked new. Everything we needed was provided. Only negative was the TV was too high up nearly to the ceiling and the breakfast was a bit expensive. Overall we both enjoyed our stay.

Room was small (expected), clean and had all the amenities needed. Can not beat the location and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Be advised there is a "city" tax that will be added to your room cost that is separate from the room cost on your travel site.

We had a room on the corner of the building overlooking Erasmus Bridge. Watching all the boats on the canal while having a cuppa was great. There are some lovely restaurants a very short walk from the hotel, and museums close by. The tram stop right outside the hotel is very convenient and made exploring the city very easy. Rooms on our floor were being renovated with new furniture etc. Our room definitely needed the upcoming revamp as the chairs in particular were worn and stained. Fantastic radiators meant we could be comfortable during a cold spell. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but we did use the bar once - it's a bit tired, service was ordinary and the food/snacks options very limited. Overall, we'd happily stay here again.

Fantastic views.
Was disappointed because we'd booked for a special occasion so had booked the most expensive room they had to offer expecting there to be a balcony as the photos showed on the room info. There wasn’t. I was told we could have a room with a balcony in an hour, but was on the first floor. Having seen the view from our allocated room on 5th floor, we declined. The view is spectacular. Please check out what you’re being offered and ignore the photos on the room description. Having said that, the room was clean and comfortable and staff helpful. If we find ourselves in Rotterdam I would book this hotel again.

Convenient Stay
Had a pleasant stay at the Thon - only a 25 minute walk from Rotherham Central. With great Metro Links too. Room came with a great view - facilities were all okay, nothing too concerning. Bathroom size was a bit of an issue, but nothing major.

Great hotel on the water, but near downtown too
Thon Hotel is right by the Erasmus Bridge, across the street from the river. My room was small, a bit cramped, and did not have a view, but was priced accordingly. Nice breakfast! Short walk to downtown, many restaurants, and the museums.

Disappointing.
Surly, indifferent 'welcome' at reception, no storage space in the entire hotel for 2 bicycles despite a request. Small poky room, poorly decorated with a view of the fire escape. Only saving grace was the good service by the lady in the cafe and a good meal. As the last accommodation after a two week cycle tour it should have been a highlight, but instead was a complete disappointment.

We do wish to clarify that bicycles can indeed not be stored inside the hotel, as we do not have the facilities for them; Instead, they can be kept in front of the hotel next to the bicycles we rent out to our guests. We regret that your room was not to your expectations and that we were not informed of this during your stay; our team would have been pleased to move you to a more comfortable room, depending upon availability. We are also disappointed by your comments concerning our team members, who always aim to deliver the best experience possible to all our guests. Nevertheless, it’s great to know we were able to tempt your taste buds with our breakfast buffet. We hope you will give us another opportunity to welcome you for a more enjoyable stay in the future. Nice view of the River
Room wasn’t cleaned throughout my stay. Front desk clerk wasn’t the friendly at check in. The other staff I encountered were friendly. The restaurant was mediocre and not worth the cost.
