The staff was welcoming and friendly. Merry at the front desk is wonderful. The room was quite nice. We enjoyed the private rooftop.

Stayed here with my boyfriend for only one night, but absolutely loved our stay. We were fortunate enough to get a complimentary upgrade to our room, and the room was very spacious, comfy, and clean! Service was also great. Would definitely stay here again 10/10.

I liked it was in the middle of Gaslamp but hard to find your way to get there. Also a deposit fee is ridiculous when you prepaid!

Liked the size of the room, got an upgrade for being VIP, the old school vibe of the hotel is pretty nice, was a walking distance to most points of interes, did not have to use the car the whole time there.

The hotel was old but nice and clean . Overall, a very good place. The neighborhood was dirty, loud and full of homeless people. Not what I expected.

The hotel is not your boring normal hotel! It’s beautiful and has personality. Not many frills but we had an amazing stay and I would absolutely go back! The staff goes above and beyond in every way for you.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff - from the reception desk to the cleaning staff. Area is lively at night during weekends, but that comes with being in the middle of everything.

My stay was great i was greeted with respect and when me and my girlfriend were about to check in the lady upgraded are room to a delux room and we had a blast plus a lot of great bars around the area altitude lounge is great if you’re willing to walk 10 minutes.

The team is super friendly and helpful. They had great ideas for meals and seemed to be happy at work. The neighborhood is a bit loud. You could hear the bars loudly at 1:00 and 2:00 a.m. I put in ear buds and was able to get to sleep. If you need quiet to sleep, this neighborhood is not for you. If you do not mind the noise, I highly recommend this hotel.

I loved how friendly and helpful the staff was from checking in to even valet to take my car. I got lucky and my room was upgraded, which was really appreciated and desired after the day I had. The room itself was spacious, clean, and I felt comfortable sleeping. The only downside, which is the downside to many hotels out in busy tight cities, is parking is not included in the stay. That comes out to $40 a night, BUT at least there was valet so I didn't have to find street parking if I did not want to.

We initially had reservations about this establishment, but I stand corrected. It's an ideal destination for a weekend getaway, boasting proximity to the ocean, various activities, and restaurants. The closure of Gaslamp street for evening events adds to its appeal. The customer service is exceptional, and the rooms are both beautiful and impeccably clean. Moreover, being a historical building, the rooftop offers the most breathtaking views. This has become our go-to spot, and it's surprisingly affordable too

Bit loud location on weekends, just because of the surrounding area, so if you are looking for a quiet place, this might not be the best fit. If you are looking for easy access to restaurants, things to do, and nightlife, then this is a great place. Really nice staff. The rooms are a bit dated, but also charming.

This is a beautiful hotel with a lot of charm. It’s in the middle of downtown and walking distance of restaurants and bars. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. The doorman at night helped me feel safe arriving back to the hotel in the early morning hours. I regret not getting his name, but thank you night shift door man! The front desk staff was amazing. I will definitely stay there again!

The amount you spend you’d expect top of the line. I’d compare it to a Motel 6 stay with Holliday Inn prices in a nice area. But I guess because it’s the “Plaza” in GasLamp
