“Great hotel”
Superb place to stay. Great location. Staff is extremely helpful.
“Hotel Maria Cristina in San Sebastian is delightful”
Superb hotel and charming place - will definitely be going back.
“I will come back”
The hotel is really first class. With perfect location, it looks and feels more like a palace then a hotel. Rooms are very, very nice-- again, palatial. The "high tea" experience is special, one feels like an aristocrat in late 19th century. Overall, very good value.....
“Well worth the 5 start rating”
This hotel is the gem of San Sebastian. Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff - what more could you ask for? Apparently Woody Allen thought the same as he was staying there the same time we were.
“Excellent Hotel, but it is too expensive”
I know, my rating and recommendation are in conflict. The hotel is set in a renovated magnificent old building within a 10-minute walk of the beautiful "Old Town" and beach promenade. Staff is fantastic and very friendly. The rooms are wonderful: big, airy, clean, and modern. Great bathrooms. Almost perfect, except I felt it was way too expensive for San Sebastian. It is priced like a top hotel in New York or Shanghai. If you still want to splurge, make sure you get breakfast in your rate. Otherwise they charge you the most expensive breakfast I have ever seen per each person in your party, including small children. I would not stay here again.
“WOW!”
The hotel and the town of San Sebastian are stunning! Our stay was comfortable and fun. The old section and waterfront are just a few minutes walk. The hotel staff was exceptionally helpful, with everything from dinner recommendations and reservations to parking the rental car. On our way out to visit the beach, the concierge, without us even asking, made sure we had beach towels. Everything about our stay - the hotel, the staff, the city of San Sebastian - was beautiful.
“Loved IT!”
Beautifully positioned for great views, friendly and helpful staff, great location for being a tourist, this hotel offers large rooms and big bathrooms with comfortable furnishings. I would stay there again in a minute! I was very pleased with the hotel and we stayed there during the San Sebastian Film Festival, which was just icing on the cake. Had a really fun time!
“Great Location”
Great location and service.
“Already Planning Next Trip”
The Maria Cristina lives up to everything and more as advertised. A wonderful historic and stylish hotel ....right down to the 4 seasonal portraits of Maria on the wall of my fantastic room with a view of the Atlantic. Stayed overnight this time on my way to Pamplona, but I am already planning my next trip to the Bull Run with a much longer stay at the Maria Cristina built in.
“Belle Epoque palace.”
Superb droom, courteous staff and excellent buffet breakfast. Don't eat in the Cafe Saigon - bad food and poorly cooked - such an excellent variey of places on the doorstep.
