Super friendly hosts. Thank you, Jin! Upstairs was not so much as described or pictured, but overall we appreciated our room and it was about as expected for the pricing tier and Asian lodging in general. Should try for a softer pillow, and small table lamps in the bedroom versus the glary ceiling fixture.

Centrally located, not recommended for seniors or anyone with disabilities as the staircase is narrow and there is no handrail. Difficult to navigate with even carry on luggage. Had a virtual host which is fine and response was quick.

Jin was very kind and responsive, and the apartment was spotless! We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again! Jin even let us keep our bags at the property for most of the day after checkout because our train home was in the evening.

The staff were very nice and patient, and most of the facilities/amenities were convenient and maintained well. It was a very quiet area, even being in a city there were no noticeable nightlife sounds. Also within 5-10 min walking distance of numerous food/shops/stations/and a park. While the important main areas like beds/baths/kitchen were kept clean, the common area was a bit too crowded with stuff to feel usable, and there was quite a bit of dust/grime buildup in various nooks like behind beds and appliances. Overall a very comfortable place to stay and well worth it.

A really nice option if you're on a budget and don't mind sharing the space with strangers. The host was very sweet and easy to communicate with. The location is very close to a lot of food and not too far from the subway station so it was pretty convenient. It was a very enjoyable stay.

We stayed at the family suite. The suite is below the ground level and is moldy. You do get a lot of space for the money with a private kitchen and a bathroom, and 2 small bedrooms. The owner is super nice and accommodating so i feel bad saying this but I cant recommend this moldy family suite.

Very clean facility. Nice owners. I just wish more detailed signs were provided in English on how to lock the door. The owner told me how when I arrived however I forgot after four days and locked the door incorrectly. I was also not able to find a working air conditioner so it was a bit hot at night. I would stay here again!

There was a lovely rooftop where I drank my coffee every morning. Coffee and simple breakfast foods were provided, as was a cold and hot water dispenser, which is important in a city where it isn't a good idea to drink the tap water. Laundry available was a plus, and the location is close to many restaurants, shops, and convenience stores.

At Wow Hills you will be treated with endless kindness and have the opportunity to make so many friends. It is great for solo travelers as you will never be alone unless that is your preference. Other guests joined me on my outings and I joined them on theirs also, giving me the opportunity to learn about Korean culture as well as the cultures of new friends. I don’t know what I would have done had I not found this guest house in my first tourist stay of Seoul. Our hosts never stop working to please their guests and they deserve the whole world! I am convinced they do not sleep for how hard they work, yet they are always smiling and making sure everyone else is smiling too. Being blessed to have met them is something I will never forget.

WOW is the correct word to describe this guest house. We have never met more kind, patient, and helpful, they greet you with warmth and show hosts than lovely Jin and her husband in Taik. Upon arrival, they home- where to find the breakfast items, how to operate the washing machine, and a tour of all the facilities. You ll find your room and all the common spaces to be clean and tidy as Jin is always working hard to keep up with the guests. She is quick to restock anything that maybe running low, so you ll never go without your coffee, tea, or snack. If you're interested in a guided tour at any point during your stay, we recommend contacting them ASAP after booking to inquire about the "KOREAN OPPA" service. It is popular so he gets booked up quickly, but the price is reasonable, and he is knowledgeable guide. We were able to hire him on one day of our trip and it was such a memorable outing with activities we wouldn't have thought of our own. He has customers who've hired him for years every time they come to South Korea, further indication of how great he is at what he does. Our room was comfortable and quiet. You should always expect to hear a little fun being had outside and in because you're in a lively part of the city, but its removed enough that you also get plenty of peace. Choosing to be in a guest house offers you the opportunity to make friends with others you the to make friends with other travelers, learn together, and even have friends to go out

I loved my experience at this guest house—the community is great and the owners are so sweet and thoughtful. Don’t make the same mistake I did, though, and forget to message them; make sure you let them know when you’ll arrive, so that they can help you with your luggage and get you set up inside. Other than that minor hiccup, which was completely my fault, I had a great experience here!

really close to shopping/food/nightlife, though you do have to walk up a small hill. jin offers pickup and dropoff of your luggage from the subway which is convenient! the rooms have ac, and there are multiple bathrooms which is nice. theres also a washer, but no dryer, and a water filter.

Great Experience
Stayed at Wow hills for the 2nd time while traveling to Korea for a week and a half. Andrew and Jin are the best in making you feel as if you were right at home. Always answering and helping you if needed. Location (hongdae) is great and many stores are within walking distance such as cafes which are located down the block. Recommend it! Would stay here again!

Convenient and quiet.
Jin picked us up and dropped us off at the metro station so it was easy to find the guesthouse. Access to the kitchen to fix breakfast from the eggs,bread and noodles that were provided was a nice perk. The guesthouse is located in a good area for a younger college scene with lots of eateries. Close to a park for exercising and a metro station for getting around the city.

Great communication; great location in Seoul
I emailed the owners of the guest house prior to our stay because our flight arrived at Incheon Airport very early and I inquired about an early check-in. They were prompt to respond to my email and were very accommodating. I work in South Korea and I've stayed in many guest houses throughout my travels here, and I can say this was the best communication I've had with any guest house. The rooms are clean and the owners offer free pick up from the Hongik University subway stop, as the guest house is located at the top of a hill. It's very considerate of them to offer the free pick up service for guests. The immediate area is quiet at night, but within a five-ten minute walk, you're in a great neighborhood of Seoul. There are tons of restaurants, coffee shops, and great shopping and nightlife. I enjoyed my stay!

It was a good place for a weekend stay. Owner was very nice and friendly, room and share toilets are clean and tidy. Although it is located on a steep but short slope, you might get a little tiring to get home. But the owner offer free pick up on your first arrival, and free delivery of your luggages to the closest subway station at requested time, even after you checked out, which safe a lot of effort in carrying your stuff to walk the slope. but the room is kinda small for any big suitcase fit it, and the soundproof wasnt that good if there happened to be other very loud guests staying at the same time. Afterall, it is still a good place for the price, especially for short trip and backpackers! would consider again.

Clean and Cozy
This is a great clean and cozy stay right by Hongik University. Tons of shopping and restaurants nearby. Only blocks away from a subway station. Would stay again.

Nice Hostel in Hongdae
Great communication prior and throughout my stay. Quick response and both were very helpful if I ever needed anything! I was provided a car ride to the train station on my way back which was helpful considering my big luggage. Great area as it is near the heart of Hongdae and many cafes located down the block such as Starbucks and Paris Baguette. Quiet at night since it's located away from the noise. I would recommend this place and will surely stay here again on my return to Seoul!

Lived up to its name!
Came here for the PSY concert in Olympic Park in Seoul so we were a bit far but Andrew was awesome in letting us know how far we were from it and how to get there. It can be a bit tricky to find from the subway but Andrew was awesome once again and picked me up from the subway exit. Its situated RIGHT in the middle of the most popular part ot Hongdae; Food,shopping,nightlife etc BUT what makes it great is its a little off the street up through an alley so after you are done with the nightlife you dont get the noise and traffic :-) Room was super cozy and clean. We got a suite came with a kitchen and common area. Couldnt have asked for a better stay. Will definitely return!

It was in a good location as it's right next to Hongik University, but also a bit away from the crowded area so you can get a sleep at night if you want to. As the name of the hostel suggests, it's up on a hill so if you wear heels everyday, this place might not be a wise choice. Also, don't forget to call them before to arrange a pickup with them. They can pick you up from the Hongik Univ. station(which the airport railway stops) so that you don't have to hassle all the way up on the hill with all your luggages. Just call them when you can on the train from the airport. My friend and I got a single room which had a bed and a pull-out mattress. It is not that spacious but it was enough for us to sleep in and get ready to go out in the morning. Bathrooms are shared, but it was not crowded during my visit. Overall, it was a comfortable stay, and really a great value for the money! The owners were very friendly too. I definitely recommend this place.

great guesthouse in Hongdae
I went to Seoul with a friend, we had been hoping to go for a long time but finally found the time to do it and we were not let down at all. Seoul was amazing, from the food, fashion to locals everything was vibrant and lively especially in Hongdae. There were so many places to eat, bars/clubs, boutiques and everyone and anyone is trendy in Seoul! I've been to tokyo, taipei and hong kong but seoul is by far my favourite city amongst them. Locals are incredibly friendly, there's about 10cafes on every street and each one is cuter than the next. food is great and everywhere (best to share food because portions are quite large) best of all, many things are 24hours, cafe's, bars and clubs are open till around 6-8am depending on which day The guesthouse was great, we were very kindly picked up and dropped off at the nearest train station by the owner and when I needed to send a package to Tokyo from Seoul Andrew (the owner) very kindly helped me arrange it!!! The guesthouse has everything you need, including breakfast which you can help yourself to every morning. The communal areas are cleaned everyday around 12pm so you don't get disturbed and the fridge is topped up daily too. When we mentioned we wanted to rent a wifi pack Andrew mentioned a store that offers a weekly rental near the guest house which was very helpful! overall, it was a very pleasant experience staying at the guesthouse, you felt at home and it was in an incredibly convenient location!

Wonderful guesthouse !
We were warmly welcomed into the guest house by both Andrew and Jin. The rooms and beds were extremely comfortable. The house had a very homely feel to it . Pantry was always stocked so we never starved. Totally great location in Hongdae, close to subway and shops. Would recommend it to anyone wanting a place to stay in Seoul .

Wow Hills is the best for the money.
Andrew and his wife were the nicest people. Picked us up from the Train Station (make sure you go to Exit #5) and dropped us off. Hongdae is a nice and popping area, but they live off the street so it's really quiet! If I come to Korea again, I will stay here!

I am a 21 year old male from Melbourne, Australia. This is my second trip to seoul and I've decided to travel alone. I stayed at wow hills guesthouse for 7-8 days in a 1 bedroom room. The place was clean. The owners were very nice and was always there for help. It was an excellent place to stay. They provide you with breakfast every morning. The room was very secured with a lock at the front door and a lock for your room. Keys for both. Very recommended. Would come back, even with friends.

Excellent lodging near to Hongik Univ and shops.
We had a wonderful time here in July 2014. The location is fantastic as it's walking distance to a number of excellent restaurants and shops, including several coffee shops just down the street (including a Starbucks). It's also next to the Hongik University gate which is a useful landmark that you can tell taxi drivers. The Hongdae area is quite fun and we felt very safe walking around there among the quirky shops and younger crowds. The owners are extremely helpful and they helped us navigate a few situations where knowledge of the Korean language was required. They are genuinely nice people and we really enjoyed our time talking with them. If you aren't fluent in Korean, it's very helpful to stay here because the owners can help you out when you need some assistance. The accommodations were excellent. We stayed in the family suite with two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a kitchen There is fast internet access (about 50 Mbits/sec), wifi, and a provided computer as well. There is also a common area upstairs with make-your-own breakfast options, a TV, more computers, toaster, fridge, etc. The place was very comfortable and it felt like a home away from home. We look forward to returning on a future trip.
