Jennifer at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful in letting me know about things to do in the area. The outside of my motel building was a little rundown, but the interior was bright and clean and remodeled. I would stay here again.

The host pays attention to small details such as personal hygiene amenities. The accommodation resembles a small resort, friendly and gives the feeling of being on vacation.

This is a property that is a little out of the way. The twon is owned by one person but the Inn, the restaurant accross the street and the gas station next door, Were all worth it. We stayed there while visiting Death Valley. It was a lot less expensive than staying int the park.

Convenient location is main draw. Old facility, very worn. Office staffed only limited hours. Was told there would be coffee in the office in the morning but it was locked and no one was around.

Check-in times are between 2pm-10pm which is when the office is staffed. The coffee, bagels, yogurt, and fruit are available from 8am-11am. Also, there is coffee in all of our rooms for the guests as well. If you came to the coffee prior to 8am that is why the office was locked. Thank you for visiting us.

We love the Shoshone Inn! Great little check in from Jennifer, she was very helpful and the small bit of care and local info really added to our experience. Very quiet (room 12), comfy and clean bed, great bathroom and we highly recommend the nature trail and walk to the mineral pool. What a sweet little town! Gift shop / general store was the greatest : awesome souvenirs and local snacks , and the restaurant across the street was excellent; we ate Mexican food and highly recommend the homemade chips and real deal milkshake… overall this town has it all and the Inn is at the heart of it . The highlight was looking outside our window to see the desert tortoise rescue pen. Friendly animals, but as the signs say do not feed them. I was very excited because that was my first time meeting a desert tortoise. Thank you for a great stay on our baby moon and honeymoon trip!!!

While it looked a little scruffy on the exterior, the room itself was nice and clean, seems like it’s been refurbished recently. Would have liked more plugs for charging. Overall, a clean comfy place to stay.

The Shoshone Inn was lovely. Modern, comfortable, clean rooms. I would definitely stay there again. The trees in the courtyard are beautiful to sit under while enjoying the fire pit. Staff were super friendly. We were less impressed by the Crowbar and recommend dining in nearby Tecopa.

This is a wonderful property for such a tiny, out of the way place, and the adjacent general store and the restaurant across the road are also great. My only caveat is that it lacks soundproofing, and has adjoining doors and laminate floors that don't mute as carpet does, so my neighbors' television and morning conversation were fully audible. But a lovely, well-maintained and remodeled place in keeping with the majestic surroundings.

The rooms are simple and basic. This is a MOtel, not a hotel. Floor had all kinds of little pieces of gravel on it - like they didn't bother to vacuum it. The bathroom is tiny, the showerhead made for shortish people - I'm 5'6" and I barely fit under it, but someone taller would struggle. We had an ice bucket in our room but couldn't find an ice machine. When my husband went to the front desk to ask reception where the ice machine was, the desk was unoccupied. He counted 8 people waiting to check in... After about 15 minutes of waiting he gave up. The restaurant was poor as well - limited choices on the menu, and what we had (Reuben sandwich and ham/cheese sandwich) was as greasy as they could be. There is NO PHONE SERVICE of any type at this motel, however there is strong Wi-Fi in the rooms

I am sorry for your negative experience. I will make sure we work on the issues you have mentioned. There is no cell phone service here, because there are no cell towers. This is a good place to disconnect and relax.

Love the historic structures and open space in this area. Museum accross the street has alot of great displays along with a resteraunt ajoining the museum property that has cool displays throught out including out back.

Great place to stay near Death Valley
Looks like an old mid century roadside motel from the road...but the rooms are very up to date with quality amenties. We had a mini-kitchen which had microwave, fridge, decent coffee maker, sink, some dishes, and small table with two stools. In addition they have fruit, yogurt, and bagels you can toast in the office after 8am. The warm spring pool is a few minutes walk away and could be a tad warmer for my taste, but we had it to ourselves. We'll be back.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable. I do wish the Crow Bar had been open during our stay, and that the gas at the general store wasn’t so expensive, but all in all we had an enjoyable stay. Everyone (only a few people) we encountered was very friendly.

It's a very nice and quiet place and hotel. The hotel has a warm pool and a small but good breakfast with coffee, chocolate, bagels and yoghurt. Yet the place (shoshone - 17 poeple) has everything; gas station, general store, restaurant...).

Was not able to stay here sure to their terrible check in policy. They did not provide a room or a refund, despite us not knowing we would be late for checkin until we were in death valley, a place with no signal for 2-3 hours of driving and a few hours of visiting for us. We got one bar of reception on arrival and their excuse for not giving us a refund for our stay was "you should have called". Borderline scam. Just install a lockbox like a real hotel if you have to close that early. We had to drive around for 3 more hours to find another room, out of pocket double what we would have paid and a lot more tired. Would not recommend to anyone and would never come back.

Prior to making your reservation the booking agent lists our check-in times. Also listed is the check-out times. When you make a reservation you receive a confirmation from both the booking agent and the hotel, which restates the check-in times. We are a 17 room hotel not a big establishment that is owned and operated by a corporation. I am sorry that you were not able to check-in; however, the times are posted on the booking agent, in the confirmation emails, and on our individual website. This is a normal check-in procedure no matter where you stay. Thank you for your review and have a nice day.

Don’t be put off by the outside appearance, the rooms have been renovated. This is a casual lodging facility with clean rooms and friendly, helpful staff. Crowbar Saloon is closed Monday & Tuesday so we went to a very small restaurant in Tecopa by the name of Steak & Beer - also very casual but that have excellent food, they do like to have reservations and were turning people away one of the nights we were there. For breakfast we went back to Kit Fox Cafe in Tecopa - also excellent food in a casual setting. While there plan a trip to China Date Farm. There are very nice trails to hike and their date shakes are great!

For a hotel in the middle of nowhere, this was a gem! It was well equipped and the staff was friendly. Also, there was a complimentary breakfast, which was a surprise. The restaurant across the street is really good as well.
