At every turn, from the gifts at turndown to the housekeeping to the hotel bar, it was pure luxury. Negresco is undoubtedly the luxe way to go in Nice. "

"My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Vacances Bleues le Royal. The hotel has an authentic French feel with antiques, chandeliers, and elaborate mouldings. The rooms are more modern- the bed was very comfortable and the balcony looks out onto the Mediterranean. The only issues we had were that the bathroom lights didn’t work- we let the front desk know and they were supposed to send a workman to our room to check it out, but never did. "Staff were very helpful, the room was nice, the breakfast was great (purchased on the morning for 10 EUR each). We did however find that the air-conditioning didn't work particularly well. In late spring / mid-May when the maximum daily temperatures were 20°C, we had the air-conditioning on "full" overnight but still found ourselves waking up during the night sweating and dehydrated."

"The location is amazing and only one street off the main Promenade, so great for a visit to Nice. Fortunately we had a nice corner room with windows, but the rooms and overall interior are very dated and a bit dingy. They should replace the mattresses soon. No closet, but at least there was a small refrigerator and a coffee maker! They do have a lounge with seating for breakfast and a very nice small terrace for drinks at the end of the day. Staff was very friendly. "
