“Excellent service and location”
The Sofitel Victoria surpassed our expectaions. For less than half the quoted price of the Hotel Bristol, it's only 300 yards away. The location is superb with a lovely park just over the road from the front door. We were there for National Soldiers Day (Aug 15) and the parade, speeches and artillery were right outside in the park. The Old Town and Nowy Swiat are an easy 10-15 minute walk away but the public transport is excellent and cheap. We bought 2 7 day passes for the equivalent of 10 UK Pounds which allowed us to use all buses, trams and the metro without worry. Hotel staff were as helpful as anyone we've met and the room was spotless with the bedding and towels changed daily. Only two minor niggles... We had water leak from our room ceiling (strange as we were between inhabited floors) which we were promised would be fixed. We later discovered that it had indeed been fixed, but had appeared again over the bathroom door. No great problem though as it's not our responsibility and it was only for the last night. The other minor niggle... The hotel charges 21 Euros per person per breakfast!!! We decided to give it a miss and found a place next door to the brewpub down the road that did decent breakfasts. Even that wasn't cheap at around 4-5 UKPounds per person, but what the hey... We were on holiday. Warsaw is an excellent city to discover, and I'd recommend the Victoria to anyone and everyone. When we return, we'll definitely be back there.
“Good hotel & well located”
Sofitel Victoria is in a good location only a 10 - 15 minute walk to the old town. It was perfectly located for a one night stay in the city. The deluxe room we stayed in was at the front of the hotel and overlooked a square with the tomb of the unknown soldier and saski garden. The breakfast in the hotel was good it included a hot and cold selection. If i were to visit the city again I would stay in this hotel.
“Excellent location and very very comfortable - will definitely stay again”
Very happy with our stay. We were well looked after. This hotel has managed to balance style and comfort . The staff were excellent - the reception, door staff and housekeeping were always accommodating and help without being intrusive.
“Good hotel, but some what over priced”
Nice hotel, but over priced.
“Blissful!”
We arrived after two nights rail travel from St Petersburg, a little tired & very dusty! We took a taxi from the rail station, about 4 pounds, well worth it. When we arrived we were treated like VIP's. The room was fabulous & the 3/4 beds each had toppers on the mattress & fluffy pillows & duvets. Very close to the old town which was my main reason for choosing the hotel. We had a really good explore that evening & then back to swim. The pool is amazing with double beds to lie on & lime juice, coffee & fresh fruit. We used this again before breakfast, which is not included in the price but well worth the extra. Really set us up for the day. First class hotel, good price & free internet.
“Absolutely terrific!”
One night only (unfortunately), but felt pampered in comparison to the creature comforts offered during my stay in other hotels.
“Highly recommended”
A 1970's period style building may not seem warm and inviting but the staff and service dispels any such notion. The room decor is heavily traditional although I always look forward to the Sofitel feather bed and comforter! The free wired internet and lobby wi-fi is a plus. Great location away from the gritty bustle of downtown but still easily accessible by the excellent and inexpensive bus system. The cafes, galleries, and stores of Krakowskie Przedmiescie Street/Nowy Swiat and the quaint Old Town are all nearby.
“Great hotel but...”
The cost of buffet breakfast was outrageous: close to $40...that's even higher than in Tokyo and more expensive than dinner at a nice restaurant.
“Warsaw's best kept secret.”
The location of this hotel is unbeatable. For the price we paid we got more than we had bargained. Very clean, friendly atmosphere, professional service all around. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to my family members and would stay in the hotel again. Best kept secret in Warsaw.
“Great hotel in Warsaw”
The hotel is in an excellent location, a few minutes' walk from the old town. Hotel staff could not have been more helpful. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again if in Warsaw.
