i brought my mom to DC to celebrate Mother’s Day. She can walk but not for long and has dietary restrictions. We couldn’t be happier about the choice of staying in State Plaza Hotel. It is priced really well for its location. Buses 32 and 36 go right in front of the hotel to the Mall. The kitchen works well for her meals. The front desk was polite and helpful. The room spacious, clean and quiet. Thank you for a great stay and a great Mother’s Day!

The staff here are great and very helpful! The location is just a 10 minute walk from the lawn. Most people drove around in cars but we liked to walk to our sites and this was the right spot for it! The room is amazing with a little pantry, so feel free to grab food for a late snack or dinner!

Nice location! Strange layout of hotel - two front desks and front-back of hotel not accessible. Furniture was outdated and rooms had no view/loud outside.

Very convenient location within easy walking distance of the Mall. A little sketchy at night with homeless encampment across the street, but we never actually saw homeless people or felt in danger.

Great property, the room was clean n the kitchenette was a plus! The staff was always friendly and even helped me when I couldn’t print in their business center. I just wish there were more dining options in the immediate area. I would definitely stay again!

I chose this hotel for the good reviews and the proximity to a work event I wanted to be able to walk to. Honestly, I didn't have a best experience and I'm not sure why people like this place to much. The Good: I somehow ended up with a suite and the room was huge w separate kitchen. It was like a mini AirBnB. The front desk staff was sparse, but friendly, however not very helpful when I asked for a walkable restaurant rec. She told me one restaurant and when I looked it up, it had bad reviews. There are lots of other options, so that was weird. Other than that nice suite surprise, this hotel is SO AVERAGE. The Bad: The pillows are shaped like marshmallows and are really not neck friendly. The room was huge but the bathroom is tiny - I had a slow shower/tub drain. Maintenance came and he said it was slow because I didn't open the stopper all the way. He said he jetted it and then left the stopper off for me. It was barely different after he left. Others have mentioned this, but the heat was not available! And it was pretty chilly the days I was there. It just blew cold air. Really annoying. I thought it was broken, but I didn't have time to deal with it. Lots of stray hairs in the bathroom. Yuck. I was first floor and could hear lots of loud talking outside. It's fine if it's convenient for you, but nothing special.

Nice location only ten minute walk to Foggy Bottom Metro and 15 minute walk to Kennedy Center. Reasonable rate and friendly breakfast staff. Room was big with kitchen. Cooked up a storm. Would stay again.

This was the first hotel to come up when looking into where to stay. Very nice, clean and easily walking distance to the White House and all other things to see. The beds were good. The bathroom was beautiful. There was a little kitchen in the room as well as a refrigerator. They have a gym and restaurant downstairs. Overall my stay was good and if I do come again I will be booking my stay here again.

Hotel is descent if you you have a short stay in DC. There’s way better hotels in the vicinity, but the price here is convenient. Breakfast at the restaurant was horrible and pricey. Salty pancakes (I don’t know how a cook can go wrong with pancakes, but this restaurant did) were extremely disappointing. My wife and I paid over $100 for a bad breakfast for two!! You live and learn. Room was fine.

Some of the staff like the doormen were wonderful ! The breakfast crew equally wonderful but during weekends not to have a restaurant to serve exhausted guests who came by car from Other states is not acceptable on that price range hotel that even charges 48 dollars for parking per night . If I can I won’t stay at the hotel again anytime soon .

We loved the location of the State Plaza. So close to the Lincoln Memorial by walking. Loved the quiet neighborhood. The staff were very nice. There are a few restaurants within walking distance, but most required an Uber. The room was neat and clean and the nearly full size kitchen was honestly a surprise. Furnished with dishes and all. We really liked the feel of the room.
