Everything was there that was expected and was very comfortable but have to bear in mind it’s a ageing building and could really benefit from a massive update. But for the price also was good value.

My husband and i really enjoy coming to stay in this hotel! Stunning old building! Lovely atmosphere here every time, Rooms are always spotless and we always book a sea view! Which again is lovely because the views are amazing! This must be our fifth visit to this hotel...... and we're going to return again this summer, would definitely recommend this hotel.

I stayed in a single room as that was the only one available short notice and it was pretty awful the floor boards were so creaky i felt like i was gonna fall through the floor and there was a massive at least an inch gap underneath my door. Speaking of the door the handle was completely broken and the lock was dodgy. I didn't feel safe in that room at all it certainly wasn’t worth the £100 i paid. go elsewhere

The hotel is showing its age in places but it clean and quiet with excellent staff. It is conveniently located and has good parking. The staff are particularly good, polite and well turned out and the set meal options were very satisfactory.

Loved the seaview we had. It was a bay windowed room and had a panoramic view of the bay. Although buffet style the breakfast was good and plentiful and staff happy to help if items not available

For the price of the room, I cannot fault it. Bar prices were a bit steep, but taking advantage of the bar voucher at booking, made even that more managable. The self service breakfast was also really good.

A grand old dame but showing her age a little
Pros: I booked a single but got a pretty big double room, so that was a lovely surprise. The room was warm, but temperature could be controlled as the stand alone heater was easily controlled. Bed was comfortable. Bath as well as shower. Cons: I could only find one socket to use to charge devices and access to that was rather restricted by the bed (the kettle one was even harder to access and so not counted in this review). Parking on site was charged extra, but I found free parking a few streets away. It was sad to see that the hotel had clearly been well decorated then allowed to deteriorate with very poor maintenance of chips in walls / paint etc - so many things looked bodged. My room had the creakiest floorboards I've ever come across, which I guess may not be something that can be fixed, but I felt sorry for anyone who might have been staying in the room below mine.

The property is obviously old, but they have upgraded the rooms to ne comfortable & pleasant. We we're located at the front of the property facing the beautiful beach which the views we're amazing. We only had one issue, the windows are only single glazed and the weather was really windy, one of our windows was blowing the curtains inside so perhaps upgrading the windows would benefit as we ended up with heating on constantly, which if upgraded woukd perhaps help heating bill as is a very large hotel. The breakfast was enjoyable and very tasty with a large variety so i would recommend.

The paint was.comi g off the walls,soor jam looked like it had been broken into, wardrobe door scraps on the carpet, toilet door doesn't open fully as there're roilet roll behind it, the qhole hotel looks dated.

Cheap but tired and room not as clean as hoped!
Whilst this hotel was good value for money, the same can’t be said for the condition of the room. The windows were dirty with mould around the frames, the shower had black mould on the grout and the walls desperately needed decorating. Good bed though and main areas were nice.

Classic old hotel that must be due for a makeover ! Having said that we do enjoy a classic hotel , breakfast and evening meal ok and not to expensive , enjoyed our stay and great ( for the price we paid ) anything over £60 per night room only ,would be a bit of a rip off !
