Good clean place friendly staff. Good location for what we wanted. Have no problem staying there again.

The Location was good for the Xmas markets 15 mins walk. There was parking at the hotel and the staff were very helpful. The beds were comfy and very clean. Breakfast was excellent, would stay there again if we go to York.

The show didnt appera to have been cleaned from previous occupant The traffic was noisy as the room was on the corner of the hoten No 5 also below where a set of traffic lights no double glazing on the window so noisy from the traffic particularily lorry traffic . also avoid nights when there is a band playing bery very loud and contines to 11 pm (Not recommended) only stayed one night instead of 2 due to noise from band and traffic

Location location, on a Saturday night live music, so very very loud in bedroom, room very bright which could course some people unable to sleep due to a big green escape light, slight road noise, but did have a good night sleep, could do with extra pillows, as had to use bath towels underneath .Free car parking on premises which was a big bonus .

I arrived too early for check in but the staff were able to hold my bag for me before I checked in. Car Park was great for me and easy to park in. The heater in the room was a great accessory for me personal due to my trainers getting ripped out and about. There was a creaking floorboard outside my rom so when I heard people coming in from a night out that woke me, but able to get straight back to sleep.

Excellent Value and clean
All was good. The bathroom was very modern and clean. The bed was comfy. The room a reasonable size. They managed to squeeze in a zed bed for my child. Free wifi, nice sized tv. Kettle, coffee etc in room. A fan too, a bit dusty/past its best but was better than nothing. A rather pleasant stay and walkable distance to main York (5-10mins)

Nice pub but not Covid-safe
Cosy pub downstairs, with great beer and live music on Saturday nights. The room was as expected for this price. The new managers Christine and Terry run the place with warmth, heart and charm. What I did not like: While the pub is probably the cosiest place in town to meet the locals on Saturday nights, it is not safe in Covid-19 times, as the distancing and hygiene rules are grossly neglected, not only by the drunk patrons but also, for example, by the hired musician, and the managers do not lead by good example either, despite the posters about maintaining at least 1m distance are right in everybody's face. The fun stops when you get infected with a deadly disease.

Only a very small car park which I unable to get into, so took my chance on a side street (which was fine, but I wouldn't recommend it). As with most pubs with rooms, was loud from downstairs until around midnight, which is to be expected. Room was fine and lady at check-in was excellent. Was unsure whether breakfast was included, but there was no sign of any breakfast activity in the morning so I just left it. Overall, would be happy to stay there again.

A great pub/b&b everything you need for a couple of days away, massive well cooked breakfast, very nice sunday dinner and good real ales too, only 20 min walk to centre of york

Room in need of immediate upgrade. We booked for 3 days. Had 1 small towel & 1 medium each. Mirror cracked. Towel rail hanging by a nail that fell to floor when towel inserted. Struggled to get into shower as no room between sink & shower. When cold water used, toilet or sink, Avery loud noise from what we think may be a pump of some sort. Flowers from out side window box growing inside room. Mattress’s needs to be thrown out. Noise from bar down stairs al most intolerable.York itself was brilliant but I’m sure you can find somewhere better to stay. Would return to York, but not this hotel

Friendly staff. But room was not clean, it was very noisy with music from the downstairs pub and traffic, the room was not serviced so we didn't get new towels, toilet paper or tea/coffee. And the overall quality of the room was poor, with a cracked mirror, loud pipes and poor quality furniture.

Had a fantastic time in York the landlord couldn't do enough for us and made us very welcome. Great place to stay and a fabulous breakfast in the morning.

Hotêl à 20 minutes à pieds des principaux attaits touristiques de York. Il faut simplememt accepter le fait que c'est un pub en bas. Le personnel est très sympathique.
