"If only we could have stayed longer! We had booking the glamping unit, but because of water issues Theresa switched us to the Bungalow, which was so cosy. She agreed alternative breakfast arrangements as we had to leave early on checkout. We only had time to meet the chickens and ducks at the doorstep, but we saw the donkey and goats sheltering from the rain! I would definitely recommend staying here if you're making a trip to Volcano NP. "

"Jon was an excellent host. Property is 200 yards from a lightly traveled riad so very quiet. Surrounded by tropical forest only 1 mile from entrance to volcanoes national park and 25 minutes from Hilo. Room was huge, about 27'x21' with a private covered deck to listen to the rain and pheasants who occupy the surrounding forest at night. Building has a sgared common area with common kitchen. "Beautiful setting in a remote location. The condominium was very comfortable, almost like home. Wish we could have stayed longer. If you are going to stay at Colony I, do your grocery shopping before arriving. Closest grocery store is a 30 min. drive. Same with dining. Be mindful that there are few restaurants near the property, and after 6 PM it's a 30 min drive minimum. "

"Dragonfly Ranch is surrounded by green and the song of frogs and birds. I stayed in a room with a delightful view of trees then ocean. Dragonfly is only about a 6 minute drive from a great beach for snorkeling and swimming - Two Step, right next to the Pu'uhonua o Honoaunau (Place of Refuge), which is well worth a visit. Staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. I look forward to visiting again in the future."
