old room, shower smaller than one on a cruise ship, old window air conditioning that was very noisy and heard plumbing pipes all night. Both my wife and I had a limited time sleeping with the noise. Had a TV but had problems accessing to programing. Waited over 2 hours, went to desk before concert and returned 4 hours later in which the TV had programing. My wife said the room was worse than a hotel room in the province in the Philippines.

Ocean drive is closed off in front of the property so there's no really easy way to get from wherever you park your car to the building with luggage. As far as I saw there was no ramp access either so rolling all our luggage from the other side of the block in the rain wasn't the greatest. Bar was completely empty and not operating either which was disappointing. They provided complimentary welcome drinks but you had to go back to the other side of the block to their sister hotel The President to enjoy them. They were good, but it didnt exactly feel welcoming. Breakfast was also at The President, not the Penguin. I skipped it, but it looked like typical continental breakfast, no real vegan options. The room itself was fine. Rate of a motel and comparable size, but you're right on Miami Beach in walking distance to the ocean, lots of shops, and restaurants. Bed and pillows were comfy. One of our lamps wasn't plugged in and it ran behind the bed so I had to get down on the floor and try to pull the cord through to get better lighting. Fridge in the room. No microwave. It was clean and fairly quiet. Some street noises and truck noises from the alleyway but I'm used to that. I'd stay there again but I wish I knew everything wouldn't be operating fully before I booked.

The property is cute. More like a boutique hotel. A little dated (paint chipping, "old" smell, etc). The rooftop pool at the President Hotel is a nice bonus, but it's quite small. It was closed for cleaning one of the days we were there. We got a free drink voucher upon arrival to use at the President Villa. The front desk staff wasn't particularly clear about what was in each of the 3 sister hotels (Penguin, President Hotel, and President Villa) so we had to wander and trial and error a little. It's clearly stated on the vouchers and on signage, but if you don't know which one is which, it's not helpful. Location was great. The room was small but fine. Overall for the money, it was good. I would stay again.

We went on a family vacation with our baby and let me tell you that everything was perfect during our stay. The team is the nicest and they are always willing to assist you with anything that you need. They provided us with a crib for our baby and we really enjoyed their pool and how close the hotel was to the beach (right in front). The location was perfect and had good restaurants and stores around. The only little detail is that cleaning could have been a little better, when we arrived we were walking barefoot and we found some debris on the floor but that was nothing compare with the pleasant stay we had! We will come back next time!

We stayed 5 nights and got no room service. The room looked old and and our room keys had to be replaced several times. The room was clean but the tv channels wouldn’t work for most nights. We had to walk through an old alley to get to breakfast and the breakfast was the same every day.

Fake advertising! This place does not have a pool you have to access the other hotel, which is the president hotel to access their pool and their free breakfast. This place is just a place to stay, however it is exactly across the Street from the beach but so is every hotel that’s on Ocean Drive. The rooms are very small. The elevator is very small. This place has no amenities. All the amenities are in the president hotel. I should have just booked the president hotel. There is no free Complementary drink you have to go to the president hotel is the president hotel. I would not see is horrible place to Stay But you should book the hotel instead of the penguin
