Harold really made it an unpleasant check-in experience. He didn't greet us, and kept insisting on getting my credit card and ID as he clearly saw I was trying to get my wallet out. He snapped my ID on the desk, cracked his knuckles, and started humming impatiently. If I could have cancelled with a full refund, I would have. I am a full time traveller, and was surprised by his rude, impatient service. He said he had been working here for a long time, so maybe he is due for some retraining in customer service. I am a GUEST in this hotel, and should have at least been greeted with a simple hello before repeatedly being asked for my ID. At least the guests behind us got a welcome. Haha.

The room is too small! There was no heater in the room during the night it was cold and windy. The washroom is really small and there is no body wash so we had to buy our own across the street. But so far our stay is good and the staff are really kind and helpful..

Hotel is a little older looking but you get used to it quickly and it has charm. The rooms were pretty clean. Staff was very kind and helpful. We were able to recharge in the lobby in between activities. They have a water fill station, ice, and microwave available. VERY centrally located to anything you want to do like visit union square, chinatown, little italy and only a few miles from all the other things you want to see. Yes, you have to pay a pretty penny for parking but this is true to anywhere you stay. parking was secure, we left our car inside the structure our entire trip and just took the bus everywhere. Great stay. Thank you, Cartwright hotel.
