Bord Gáis Energy Theatre

At the heart of the bustling Dublin theatre scene you will find the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. Officially the largest theatre in Ireland, its opening in 2010 heralded a new era for theatre – not just in Dublin, but across Ireland. For the first time, the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre allowed exceptional quality local and international theatrical productions to come to Ireland.

Situated on the Grand Canal Dock, the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre complements its historic surrounds with a sleek and tastefully executed contemporary glass design. Seating over 2,000 people, the theatre has already played host to a number of prestigious sell-out productions, including a Russian State Ballet production of Swan Lake, the award-winning Jersey Boys and a range of operas, musicals, concerts and dramas.

Since opening its doors, the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre has welcomed over half a million visitors a year, and this number only looks set to grow. Situated close to the 3Arena concert venue, the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre also hosts a number of annual concerts. It has already played home to some classic names in music, from Chris de Burgh to Tony Christie.

You will find several large refreshment kiosks at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, as well as a bar on each floor where you can reserve interval drinks. Deliberately built to be accessible, the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre is centrally located in Dublin, just south of the River Liffey. Travel here is easy by car, bus or using the Dublin DART.
