Afterward, restore energy levels with a meal in a nearby café or restaurant with views of the sea.

Take advantage of the sightseeing opportunities within easy reach of Shatti Al Qurum. Go on an excursion to Muscat Old Town, approximately 10 miles (16 kilometers) east of the neighborhood. Look over the magnificent Al Jalali Fort and Al Mirani, two 16th-century strongholds. Admire the flamboyant design of Al Alam Palace, a royal residence belonging to the ruling monarch. These buildings are not open to the public, but they’re worth seeing for their architectural features.

Appreciate the extraordinary beauty of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque's Islamic architecture. This important place of worship is a short drive from Shatti Al Qurum and is open to non-Muslim visitors. For your evening's entertainment, watch a concert, dance, musical or other theatrical performance at the Royal Opera House Muscat.
