"Overall was very pleased with our 2 night stay. The room was a bit too warm for us even although the window was open, so maybe the addition of a fan would be a consideration. Also the very excellent shower could have benefitted from a slightly deeper shower tray. The bathroom floor was a bit flooded and it if it hadn’t been for the shower mat, the consequences could have been worse. Saying that, the room was very clean, extremely well stocked with bathroom accessories , tea/coffee etc sachets,...

"Small hotel with bar/restaurant on the street level. Comfortable bed. I don't think I'd want a room on the street side. It could be noisy. Excellent location on the main street in Oban. Convenient parking in the back of the hotel."

"Lovely couple that ran this old fashioned but well maintained b&b. Bed was a little uncomfortable but reasonable overall for the price. "

"First of all , Tom is a lovely host friendly and had suggestions for dining and taxi service . Room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space for moving around . Breakfast was very hospitable and yummy food provided with company at one table with the other B&B persons. My only issue was that four rooms shared a bathroom on the second storey so maybe a suggestion would be to have potentially scheduled shower times or cleaning supplies to share between persons visiting . "Would have given 5 stars but on arrival found we had to use a lot of stairs , my fault for not asking before hand. Location was excellent. Rooms clean and comfortable. Denise ( owner) was very pleasant and friendly."

"First time staying here and we weren’t disappointed. Room was spacious and airy , bed very comfortable. Welcome pack was good. Shower was great and bathroom was immaculate. My only suggestion was to add a handrail inside the shower and maybe a small corner shelf for shampoo, conditioner , shower gel it’s much better for someone disabled. "Mary, our host, was lovely. Very friendly and helpful. The Gables is a cute, quaint building. Our room and bed were on the small side but both were comfortable. Easy bus ride from Edinburgh and train ride from Glasgow. "

"I booked online for the same day. When I arrived the said there were no rooms. The owner checked my reservation and made up a room for me anyway. There was a lovely cold breakfast buffet and the hosts were friendly. "
