Was a little concerned that we wouldn't be able to sleep above a pub. But I can honestly say this is was of the best hotels I've ever stayed in my life....beds were amazing, breakfast was basic but good, staff were helpful (made us food even after the kitchen had closed when we first arrived and the feel and style of the hotel if so homely, location doesn't get better and the beer and pizza...wow. Will stay again!!!! You could hear people downstairs till about 11ish...but really people it's a pub...go have a beer yourself.
This place was not only a really good budget hotel but was also excellent value. Very clean and modern within the heritage structure. While there is no air con in the rooms the industrial fan provided definitely serves it's purpose. And the ablution facilities, although shared, were kept immaculate. Will definitely stay again.
"Great location, Spartan accommodation, good value."
The Hotel's location is amazing, you are a short stroll from the debauchery of Kings Cross and the usual tourist attractions (opera house, botanical gardens, etc). The rooms are functional, nothing special but just what you need. Some rooms are a bit noisy due to businesses in the buildings next door so bring earplugs and you'll be fine. Overall, the hotel is a great value and the staff is accommodating.
"Clean, friendly staff, very comfortable, spacious"
My daughter and I stayed in Room 12A. It was large, comfortable, had kitchenette with cutlery, plates, m/wave, fridge and large adjoining balcony. Staff were very friendly and helpful Bathroom and toilet clean and had no problems with access. I've stayed at Marriott on Circular Quay, Carrington Apts, and many other lodgings in Sydney but this is far and away the best value.
