Hotel staff was very friendly, everyone super nice. View was beautiful right in front of beach. Pool facilities were good also restaurant and hotel room was very tidy. Definitely recommend.

El hotel está bien por el precio. Es sencillo, para ir a dormir y estar enfrente de la playa. Lo malo: no nos tuvieron las mochilas al momento del checkout, habían hormigas y una cucaracha en la habitación.

This is a no-fuss hotel directly on the Mediterranean Sea. It was perfect! The restaurant at the hotel was one of the best we experienced in El Campello. The view from the cafe was the sea, and the pool was large, clean and uncrowded. Listening to the sea while sleeping at night and playing all day in the sun was great for our family of five. We barely left the property for almost three days. Lovely!

Friendly and comfortable hotel. I felt very comfortable as a single women staying in this hotel and I loved the food, it would have been perfect if there had been more choice. lovely pool and I loved seeing the sea from the hotel. Clean and well run staff helped in any way they could. Thank you for a lovely stay

Very clean hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, would have preferred a double bed for more comfort and needs air con or better cooling fans, just too warm and stuffy in the room at night and made sleeping difficult, would stay again at different time of year when it's fresher at night, generally it was a nice place to stay and in an excellent location on the seafront

Location!!!!!!! Very low key!!!!! Best price!!!!
Perfect location with great price and awesome people who run it. Just stayed there 5 nights last week. Yolanda at the front desk was the best!!!! Breakfast lady (Sorry, forgot the name), was the sweetest thing ever. I had some health issues at the last days of my stay and was able to get 100% attention and support from the staff. Had wonderful time at the beach, with great sandy seashore, crystal clear warm waters and great breeze. This is very low key, no night life location. Great for evening strolling along the beach on the promenade. If you want night life - this is not for you.Will be back for sure!!!!!

Excellent place to stay and I especially enjoyed the location and close access to the metro station. Wonderful view of the Mediteranean also. Would definitely return for a longer stay, especially for the price

I stayed 5 nights in this hotel,arriving very late due to long delay with Easyjet flight from Gatwick airport.The staff were very helpful and welcoming,friendly and enthusiastic always. The location is excellent opposite the beach and near to the tram station for easy cheap travel to all the beaches and towns along the coast,a few minutes from El Capello.I really enjoyed the buffet breakfasts,sun terrace,and delicious snack bar also.The hotel was calm and restful,tastefully decorated and very clean thruout.I will certainly return and strongly recommend.

When I arrived it was late evening but the place looked just as it did in the photos. I was really pleased with my choice. The room was adequate and the hostel was pleasant enough. Most of the staff were very friendly, one in particular made the stay that little more enjoyable, her name is Eva, she was always ready to help and has a lovely smile. El Campello is a beautiful place which is kept very clean and tidy by the council workers, the beach, streets, everywhere. I don't recall reading anywhere that the area and hostel would be populated by mainly mainland Europeans with little, if any, English, this wouldn't be a problem as a rule but with minimal knowledge of the Spanish language I really struggled that said, it has made me more determined than ever to learn Spanish. If you do go there I would definitely recommend you pay a visit to the "Castell de la Santa Barbara" it is at the top of "Mount Benacantil". The best way to get there is on foot through the neighbourhood of "Santa Cruz". On the way up you will pass the "Museo de Aquas de Alicante" which is worth a visit. It is only a small place but it is interesting. All of the castle is free except for any special attractions that may be on. There is a restaurant, café, snack and drink stalls and a market. Absolutely brilliant day out ! El Campello........I couldn't do it enough justice by writing something here. Go and visit it yourself. If you don't speak Spanish take a good phrase book. Enjoy !

I've stayed in Hostal San Juan previously. The staff are very friendly and accommodating of my poor Spanish language skills. It's great value for money and in a fantastic location. The Alicante-Benidorm tram is right outside the door.

A VERY GOOD HOSTAL FOR ALL AGES
FORGET THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS THIS HOSTAL IS AS GOOD AS A 3* HOTEL. FAN IN ROOM SO YOU COULD KEEP WINDOWS WINDOWS CLOSED. BREAKFAST WAS VERY GOOD ALTHOUGH NOT FOR THE FULL ENGLISH MARKET.RESTAURANT AND CAFETERIA PRICES WERE COMPARABLE WITH LOCAL RESTAURANTS AND BARS. THIS HOSTAL IS NEXT TO THE TRAM STATION "MUCHAVISTA" SO GETTING TO CENTRE OF ALICANTE OR CAMPELLO IS VERY EASY

Just what we'd hoped for!
The staff were pleasant and helpful at all times. The quality of the food served was satisfactory - plain and tasty. The rooms have no air-con.but at the beginning of May that was not an issue. The beds and rooms were tidied each morning and clean towels provided every day. We even enjoyed swimming in the sea and hotel pool - both cold so early in the season! The location was ideal and for a short break this pretty hotel was ideally suited for our requirements.

As a "hotel" this establishment would have a poor mark, but as a "hostel" it deserves a high recommendation. It is an old building that has been extended & extensively tidied up with copious quantities of paint and whitewash. No air-conditioning but rooms have television with 39 Spanish channels and one English channel. There’s a nice restaurant, which is a little pricy, but there is a fine cafeteria for lights snacks & small meals. Scandinavian-style breakfast buffet is basic but very well presented. The staff are very helpful. There is a very nice pool, but is closed afternoons so not to disturb visitors to adjacent building during afternoon siester time (15:30 - 17:00). The surrounding area is not exactly tourist-like and there’s a shortage or restaurants and shops, but there are a couple of small places and only 450m from a large modern supermarket. The beach is just over the road with golden clean sands, with lifeguard at weekends. Access to the hostel from Alicante city and the airport is excellent. From the airport, take a bus to the city (Luceros area) - (< 3 euros), then tram L3 to Muchavista (< 2 euros). Taxi to the airport is about 40 Euros (Sept 2012). All-in-all this is a very pleasant place to stay if you do NOT seek a rowdy night-life, posh restaurants & night-life, clubs & disco's. It is basic but very pleasant & clean. If you want good entertainment then it is a 30-minute tram ride into Alicante, but the last tram back is about 23:50 & stops at all stations.

Great place to relax.
My Husband & I were so pleased with Hostal San Juan. It was exactly what we wanted. A clean, quiet hotel close to the beach, a pool & in a relaxing area. We got exactly that & more. The rooms are basic (no kettle or kitchen sink) but have plenty of Spanish character with beautiful sea views. All the staff were very friendly, fun and helpful even with us making a mess of the Spanish language. The restaurant had such amazing food, we ate there every night of our stay and when it was too windy for the beach the pool area was perfect for a relaxing sit in the sun with a drink from the bar. It does pay to have a translation book if required just to make things a bit easier & its also fun trying.

The hotel was very poor presented, room no 104 allot of noise 4m some boiler.the restaurant very inconvenient hours opened and the food only acceptable 4 the price.. the beach across the road only absolutely fabulous so that made the stay in the hotel rate a 5 * train stop out side the door only 30 min away 4m marcado the busy spot with all the craic and good night life over all not a bad hotel 4 people on a budget

Dålig upplevelse.
Ingen bra upplevelse allt. Skulle aldrig vilja bo där igen. Dåliga rum, dålig service bortsätt från en tjej i restaurangen. Bilderna från Hotels stämmer inte överens med verkligheten! Ligger ganska bra men finns inte mycket i närheten. Dock inte hotellets fel. Vi kommer aldrig bo där igen.
