“Very pleased”
We were very impressed with the hotel - particularly the views from our balcony. Owners (who speak English) and all staff very friendly and helpful. Our room really lovely - big and huge balcony. (It's worth noting that the standard room, though, is in the attic and only has very small balcony - worth paying to upgrade). Car parking is very expensive (18 euros a day) and there's not really any option to paying it. Some of the other hotels nearby did have car parking spaces. Also, directions to the hotel would have been helpful - we missed the Sorrento turning and were told that lots of people do. Overall, however, fabulous hotel in fabulous place.
“Excellent location”
Fabulous outlook. Loved both the suite and the room with the terrace upstairs. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Loved the breakfast overlooking the bay. Loved exploring the neighborhood. We didn't mind climbing up and down the stairs to go to the beach. There is a lot to see around. Thank you.
“Excellent Excellent”
Serene location away from the touristy part of Positano, wonderful staff, good food, spectacular view, great value. Highly recommended
“didn't want to come home”
Positano is a beautiful town but it is very hilly and has lots of steps to negotiate to get from one level to the next if you want to avoid climbing the slopes. Also I wouldn't recommend taking a car as it costs in excess of 20 Euros per day to park. The Hotel Villa Gabrisa is highly recommended the staff cannot do enough for you and are extremely helpful. If you visit Pompeii ensure you go in via the main entrance at Porta Marina, we went in the back way by mistake and couldn't get any audio sets or anything also this entrance did not give the "wow" factor I expected.
“Good Hotel”
Great Hotel, Nice people, very friendly and helpfull. Spacious room and clean!
“The best hotel in Positano”
My husband and I just visited Hotel Villa Gabrisa for three days at the end of March and absolutely loved it. Our room was well appointed and immaculately maintained every day, with a terrace that overlooked the water. We especially adored the bath tiled in soft yellow and blue. Breakfast was amazing, with fresh juices and coffees, beignets, croissants, cereals, yogurts and much more every morning. The staff was always amenable and extremely helpful, steering us to what turned out to be our favorite restaurant during our stay in Italy- C'era una Volta. There we enjoyed the freshest seafood and pasta and a thoroughly delightful staff. We hope to return again as soon as possible.
“The Perfect, Friendly, Family-Run Hotel”
Everything about this hotel was just perfect for our family. We stayed in the 'Standard' attic rooms - which, despite being the smallest and least expensive rooms in the hotel, were absolutely lovely. The dormer windows, balconies with far-reaching views, Mediterranean-tiled bathrooms and pretty decor in our rooms made for a very comfortable stay. The air conditioning worked fantastically well, too! The fact that the hotel was family-owned and run gave this hotel a real local feel and flavour, and it was beautiful without feeling stuffy or opulent. The restaurant at Villa Gabrisa served us the best meal we had in Positano, and that's saying a great deal in a town absolutely filled with wonderful restaurants serving superior food. Each night, our family sat outside on the hotel's streetside tables, watched the crowds walk, drive, or ride by on scooters, and gazed down (and up) on the gorgeous lights of Positano while drinking the hotel's own limoncello. All the while, we were treated by the hotel owners like we had been staying with them for months, rather than days. Highly recommended.
“great place to stay”
Everything about this place was wonderful
“Hotel Villa Gabrisa a Relaxing Place to Stay in Positano”
Hotel Villa Gabrisa is family owned and operated. From the moment we arrived in Positano and mentioned the hotel we were staying in the locals responded favorably. It’s no wonder they are so well respected. The staff was very friendly and inviting. They provided us information to make our stay in Positano a rewarding experience. The hotel is immaculate. There was always someone cleaning or improving on some aspect in the hotel. We ate dinner there on several nights in a row and were never disappointed. We met someone on our cruise to Capri who tried to book a room there but couldn’t get a room because they were full so book early. If I ever have the opportunity to return to Positano, I’ll return to Hotel Gabrisa.
“A small taste of paradise”
Positano is an idyllic location and Gabrisa a great place to explore it from. A lovely room with splendid views and a large sized balcony to boot. The proprietors were always friendly and did everything they could to deliver the best possible service. The mini bar was the most sensibly priced we have ever seen. This may seem like a small thing, but is indicative of the philosophy of the place. Can full recommend :-)

Area:
Positano, Italy: A desirably picturesque tourist haunt, Moorish-style houses cling to Positanos steep hillsides. Its a pleasant walk down to the small grey beach and fishing harbour via narrow, flower-decked alleyways and steps, but the return journey takes some effort (luckily theres a bus). A domed church is Positanos main landmark. The town celebrates the Feast of the Assumption on 15th August by re-enacting a famous victory against the Saracens.
